Just got back from the game. Got to say our fielding is sh*te. Can't throw at the wicket and can't catch. India are p*ss poor at fielding and England are miles better...you can just tell from the warm up!
The stewards at Edgbaston are absolute morons. Kicking people out because they were on their mobile phones and were playing the dhol. Had them escorted out by police. :whatever:
Apparently it causes inconvenience to cricket fans. Oh yeah I forgot, you can't make noise at the cricket!!!!!
It pains me to say it but England are a better one-day team compared to India right now.
England have a beter all round game, they are good in the field and can often save around 20 runs by diving around. Their bowlers are capable of taking 10 wickets during a game, the only problem they have is with their batting. Too many times their players will score 30 runs & fail to convert it into a 50+ or 100+. Matt Prior is a classic example.
India rely on their batsmen heavily. Everyone knows India are not good at chasing totals so why Dravid keeps putting England into bat when winning the toss is a puzzle to me. Our fielding is at times shocking to say the least and we often give away 20-30 runs even before the game has started. We need to start giving our youngsters a chance to shine, for example our best fielder along with Yuvraj has got to be Kaif, but he hasnt even been picked for over a year. Our bowlers are too erratic and quite frankly never look like bowling the opponents out inside 50 overs. Whilst they may bowl 2 or 3 good deliveries per over, they will relieve the pressure by conceding a boundary or extras.
In the end all i'm saying is if India want to win this series they need to play according to their strengths, so if they win the toss forget the bloody conditions and just bat 1st and score the biggest total you can.
I'm not sure that we have bowled that much better than you. Anderson and Broad have been very good but beyond that everyone has been inconsistent. The difference has been that our bowlers have been backed up by better fielding.
It is odd that you haven't just been trying to post totals against us. Especially as we have shown we are mentally fragile so often in the past. I think that if we had been in a similar mid innings position with your spinners bowling well while chasing a total then we would have been much more likely to collapse.
Having said that against all odds Bell has turned out to be a top ODI batsmen in the last few matches. The pressure on his place seems to have done him good.

I'm astonished at how well we've played over the three games. We were awful prior to that. Fair play to messers Moores and Collywobble, they seem to be pushing us in the right direction.
I will still be surprised if we win this series. On an unrelated note Pietersen is due a big score and I wouldn't bet against him getting on in the next game.
