Thanjk you.

But he's still the best British player we've produced for decades and a solid top ten player in his peak. Pity he never won Wimbledon, but he reached the semis of the Australian and French Open as well as Wimbledon one year.
Murray is by far a more complete player than Henman; Henman had the opportunity to win Wimbledon, however mentally he couldn't cope with the public expectations.
Murray maybe a bit of a gob****e, but I'd be surprised if he didn't win a major.

Henman was a good serve and volleyer but to me always seemed to lack something necessary to be a top player - may be killer instinct, may be mental toughness, I don't know. 2001 when Ivanisovic won Wimbledon as a wild card was his golden chance but he blew it. He might as well have retired there and then because you knew it was never going to happen for him. Even Rusedski got a grand slam final once, which Henman never did.
I don't know, but for some reason I just never liked the guy. May be it's the poncy name, or just the annoying hype and hysteria that followed him around Wimbledon, or may be it's because he deliberately smashed a tennis ball into the face of a ball girl or those annoying Persil adverts. Either way, I won't be too sorry to see the back of him.
I dont mind Henman, or Murray, for me Id like a brit to win Wimbledon. Dont care who, doubt it will happen in my lifetime but who knows. Dont think the U.K has the proper infrastructure to train top level athletes be they tennis players or long distance runners. Shame really.

I quite like Murray though. He's a miserable moody ******* and in tennis that makes him a bit different which is always good.

Henman sort of peaked during an era when a different kind of power tennis was evolving. Yes, he's never been poor...and yes...he's bottled it once or twice. But ffs, respect where respect is due, please. He's earned millions - have you? He's still one of the best in the world at what he does - are you?
Murray is a gobby jock youth with the potential to be great. He's worked for his success - backed to the hilt by his mum. As soon as he ceases to be a gobby jock youth I'll like him more.
Henman won today against quality opposition. It could get interesting....or he could get hammered. Makes it a bit more interesting for those who only use the word tennis during Wimbledon event.
