Nowadays though - his hands are so fragile that he's going from fight to fight probably not knowing if it'll be his last so he's simply preserving his record.

After the Lacy fight he should have gone for the big time fights like that BUT warren got him back into the old routine of easy money sellout fights......he will never get the respect he craves outside of Wales because of the amount of nobodys he's fought

"Frank Warren has today announced Joe Calzaghe will fight retired tennis star Boris Becker, the fight will take place in Cardiffs Millenium Stadium on March 17th 2008. It promises to be another thrilling name added to Calzaghe's record with Warren claiming his fighter is so good he'll dispose of Becker before the 4th round"

Are the American fans that interested?
Bill shankly to Tommy Smith after he'd turned up for training with a bandaged knee:
'Take that poof bandage off, and what do you mean YOUR knee, it's LIVERPOOL'S knee !'

"Sorry, boss, I should have kept my legs together," said Lawrence. "No, Tommy, your mother should have kept her legs together!," replied Shankly.
