To think that Warren was saying that he was going to make an offer to Hatton to fight Gavin Rees for the WBA belt on the Kessler Vs Calzaghe undercard.
That just shows what a ****** Warren is doesn't it?
Think Mayweather might be just too good for Hatton with is wimpish scientific boxing. I hope however Hatton wipes the floor with the him, he got lucky against De Lay Hoya lets hope Hatton shows him the meaning of the word 'Warrior'.
DECK THE HALLS: MAYWEATHER-HATTON ON DEC. 8TH
By Editor | July 27, 2007
According to Kevin Iole of Yahoo! Sports, it appears as though Christmas has indeed come early as undefeated welterweight champion Floyd Mayweather Jr. and undefeated jr. welterweight champion Ricky Hatton have agreed to terms today for a December 8th welterweight clash in Las Vegas, NV.
"He's definitely getting knocked out. I guarantee that," Mayweather told Iole. "He's talked the talk. Let's see if he can walk the walk when he's in there against the best."
As reported earlier, with three-time world champion Shane Mosley set to face WBA welterweight champion Miguel Cotto in November, fans can look forward to a potential welterweight mega-clash between the winners of both bouts some time in 2008.
Some excellent fights ahead.
If this is true, I think it will be Mayweather against Cotto in 2008.
I hope I am wrong about Ricky though, as i'd love him to prove himself as the best of his generation. He deserves it atleast for having the best attitude in boxing.
Bill shankly to Tommy Smith after he'd turned up for training with a bandaged knee:
'Take that poof bandage off, and what do you mean YOUR knee, it's LIVERPOOL'S knee !'
"Sorry, boss, I should have kept my legs together," said Lawrence. "No, Tommy, your mother should have kept her legs together!," replied Shankly.
* After Tommy Lawrence had let in a fluke goal between his legs
So will this be on the undercard of the Kessler Calzaghie fight?
Hatto and Mayweather wanted to be on that undercard, but Warren didn't want it bring down Calzaghe's image.

I want to go but there's no way the missus would let me spunk 2 grand that close to our sons first Cristmas.
He wont know what it is yet, get a happy meal and give him the toy. Sorted.
I've got to try and first save some money then get away from the bint, we're meant to be going to Italy in November for her best friends wedding and spending a week out there, she's going to go ****ing mental when she finds out she'll be going alone. I'll end up looking like Michael Katsidis did the other night when I break the news to her.
ESPN reporting that the deal has all but been done.
Also ESPN reporting that Hatton is set to sign with Golden Boy Promotions.
Hatton's obviously made a tremendous impact on the Americans.
I read an article earlier, it might have been one of the links I posted, and it said that GBP were co promoting the show. There was speculation that this was because Hatton was all set to sign with the company but apparently De La Hoya had a clause in the contract when he fought Floyd saying that should Mayweather fight again GBP would be able to co promote the fight.
Ray Hatton has apparently conducted negotiations for the fight which could possibly point to a split between Hobson and Ricky. Surely if Fight Academy were still involved Dennis Hobson would have been the one conducting the negotiations?

I don't think Hobson is promoting Ricky any more. They had a three fight deal that expired after the Castillo fight.

I knew that but I thought that there was talk of the deal being extended. I remember Hobson saying that he was negotiating the Mayweather fight....I suppose he might not have been able to come up with the goods and Golden Boy Promotions stepped in and offered the cash to make the fight happen?
The ESPN website does say that rumors suggest that Hatton is on the verge of signing for GBP which would be a great move for Hatton because win or lose against Floyd GBP will still make big fights happen for him.
Here's a list of fights from the bottom of the ESPN article.
Mayweather-Hatton adds another major fight to an already loaded fall that also will include the Jermain Taylor-Kelly Pavlik middleweight championship showdown (Sept. 29), the Manny Pacquiao-Marco Antonio Barrera rematch (Oct. 6),the probable Juan Diaz-Julio Diaz lightweight unification bout (Oct. 13), the heavily anticipated Joe Calzaghe-Mikkel Kessler super middleweight unification bout (Nov. 3), the probable Miguel Cotto-Shane Mosley welterweight title bout (Nov. 10) and the Joan Guzman-Humberto Soto junior lightweight title match (Nov. 17).
