Bill shankly to Tommy Smith after he'd turned up for training with a bandaged knee:
'Take that poof bandage off, and what do you mean YOUR knee, it's LIVERPOOL'S knee !'
"Sorry, boss, I should have kept my legs together," said Lawrence. "No, Tommy, your mother should have kept her legs together!," replied Shankly.

I'm nost sure Myweather can be called a bigger puncher now though. He's not knocked anyone out in 2 years and the majority of his KO wins came at lightweight - light-welterweight. That's not to say he doesn't have the strength to knock anyone out nowadays.Originally posted by bazza76 View PostJust watched the fight, thanks Scot.
Castillo was diffinately robbed in that fight, cant argue with that.
HE Hurt Mayweather more and landed more punches.
Hometwon decision if ever there was one.
But I will say, Floyd has come on a long way, even since that fight. He is a better boxer now and a heavier puncher. I would like Hatton to put Mayweather in a similar situation that Castillo put him in, reamins to be seen though.
He is a better boxer now than he was then though.Babel fanclub member # 4!!!

You have a point Scot, I guess what I meant to say is, is that he is physically stronger now, the fighter that fought De La Hoya, is physicaly stronger than the fighter that fought Castillo.Originally posted by kurtangle01 View PostI'm nost sure Myweather can be called a bigger puncher now though. I think it is hard to take too much from comparing Hattons fight against Castillo with MAyweathers fight against Castillo. The only thing I would take from it is, a 9 pound heavier Castillo was able to back Mayweather up.Bill shankly to Tommy Smith after he'd turned up for training with a bandaged knee:

I have spent most of the weekend downloading most of mayweathers fights and watching them, apart from the odd spectacular performance he looks like a fantastic athlete and has a great range of boxing abilities......however, I genuinely believe, more so now than ever, that Hatton will not only win, but win well. Im going to find the best odds I can for a hatton win and lay £100 on it. And thats being really critical of both hatton and mayweather, I have tried to base it purely on what I have seen of each fighter. Im going for hatton all the way.

IMO, i dont think Mayweather has the power in his punches to hurt Ricky enough to KO him, and i think this is where Hattons chance lies. He'll have to take a few no doubt, but if he gets inside Mayweather and can get his range of body shots going i genuinely believe Ricky can win this.
Easier said than done of course, Mayweather is top class without doubt and Hatton will need to throw a huge amount of leather.
I cant see a points decision here either, i think Hatton will put him away in the late-mid rounds. If you've lost your faith in love and music the end won't be long

Interesting but Mayweather is almost always stronger in last 6 rounds than first 6, so I don't see how Hatton will necessarily wear him down as suggested.Originally posted by Joe Le Toff View Post

Also, many forget that Hatton is often wide open to left hooks and I can't help but think how much trouble Eamon McGee gave Hatton and I think McGee is closest style wise to Mayweather of all his opponents.

I agree, Hatton can be very easy to hit at times, I don't like saying it, but I think Mayweather will beat him.Originally posted by kemm1 View PostInteresting but Mayweather is almost always stronger in last 6 rounds than first 6, so I don't see how Hatton will necessarily wear him down as suggested.
