Perfectly good try. I've seen a bazillion replays over the last few years and only time I was surprised was when Ireland were denied a try, think it was against France. Weird decision, would have made a great finale.

However, SA were awesome. Bossed us all over the pitch and deserved to win. Great final, and proud of En-ger-land.

It wasn't a try. If you look at the clip then you will see that a little bit of the boot hits the line and that is enough to disallow it.

I think people are confusing the rules here. Unlike Football, In Rugby you dont have to cross the line. A simple touch is enough.

Anybody who knows the history with Stuart Dickenson and South Africa, will think twice before saying he favoured South Africa. He's hated by SA Fans because he never calls the marginal calls in our Favour. When they said he was the TV referee, I thought, Oh No . I was surprised when he called the player out before scoring as it was a marginal call, but definately the right call.

I guess this will be another "Did the ball cross the line ? scenario (Chelski 2005 CL SF)" I still think SA would have won if the try was given and the fact that this incident immidiately followed the invasion of the field by that Stupid Fan, rattled SA momentarily and any score would have been unfortunate at that time.

It was a good final, not in terms of rugby (they hardly ever are), but for the pure tension. Only when Steyn got the kick to make it a 9 point lead did South Africa look safe.

I think England did incredibly well to make the final and put on an excellent display, but I think South Africa were the best team throughout the tournament and fully deserved their win.

I think Sky with their continual reference to "the try that wasn't" are are belittling the achievements of both England and South Africa by trying to turn a great tournament into a conspiracy. The fact is people have been watching replays since last night and still aren't sure if it was or wasn't a try, being that inconclusive means it was absolutely impossible to award it.

SAR - yes, I still think you would have won but at 10-9 it would have been an interesting finale.

PS It definitely WAS a try As the commentator said "Up you go left leg, Try"
