We saw the same in the final - in the final set Federer's game raised and (after some break-point scares) demolished Nadal.

    A brilliant, brilliant player.
That is why he is the best.

He wins the important points. A match can look to be close but when you look at the stats after the game then you will see break points won five out of eight or something like that and that he has saved a lot of break points himself.

Federer doesn't go out and demolish a player 6-1, 6-1, 6-0. He goes out and do what he need to do, nothing more. No wasted energy in the early rounds just to get a big scoreline. It's better to cruise for two hours than to give 100% for 90 minutes.
Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

The scary thing is, he could go out and demolish virtually any player 6-1, 6-1, 6-0.

He almost did that against Nadal, on clay this year.

I think that he will win all four Grand Slams next year. Nadal has injury problems and he is the only one that can stop Federer right now.

Federer has of course not looked fit himself this season but still won three out of four slams. Nothing can stop a fit Federer on any surface IMO, not even a fit Nadal.
