Some of my most favorite fighters have a negative win rate, take Nick Diaz for example.. A banger big time, loves a scrap and techincally can mix it up with anyone but in his last 5 figths has lost 3 times ... does that bother me, not a bit am I excited when I see his name on the fight card .. You bet

The sport moves on, new stars will rise ... I personally have not seen Babalu do anything of note for a long time. Chuck has been beaten by two extremely tough fighters ... Rampage Technically holds Both the Pride and UFC titles and Pride at two weight class's, Jardine is a ****ing Monster .. his kicks are like been hit will a metal baseball bat a rising star if you ask me.

But all of this is why I love MMA, you are only as good as your last fight and anyone can know you the **** out if you are not carefull ... I dont care about stars I just want to see a good fight
Fair points but like Bazza I was very dissappointed with Shogun's fitness - not taking anything away from Forrest Griffin who I love to watch fighting but Shogun came with a massive reputation and didn't do the biz. You know what you are going to get from Forrest, a stand up slugfest but Shogun seemed surprised and couldn't deal with it - this indicated he didn't prepare properly to me so I expected more

I am also a big fan of Nick Diaz as he is very entertaining but feel the same way about Babalu - as you say his recent record isn't great but still get excited when I see his name on the fight card

I agree that Rampage is a monster so no shame losing to him but no matter how well Jardine fought against him (above his level IMO, knocked senseless by Alexander in previous fight), he would have been expected to win that comfortably. Jardine's kicks were awesome and you could see how raw Chuck's sides were as the fight went on but he never got into his rythm and never threatened in the whole fight. I genuinely wouldn't be surprised if he packed it in as he has fallen down the pecking order after 2 losses and he's not a young man ....... he would be sorely missed

No problem with new guys coming in once they are raising the bar & completely agree with your "you are only as good as your last fight" - it is what makes UFC so addictive

The next big thing in the UFC will be Houston Alexander. This guy will be light heavy champion without doubt and hopefully he'll get the chance to fight Rampage soon as he's getting on a little now.

I still don't think we'll finish in the top 4 this season."

Speaking of the next big thing, can't wait to see Brandon Vera fight again after almost a year out.

Let's hope he hasn't lost any of his sharpness because I want to see Sylvia take another hiding.

Juanito Ibarra has Vera as a cert for the heavyweight title. And Juanito knows.

I'm not too sure about Alexander, his last two fights have been very quick, but, Jardine he beat, was nowhere near the Jardine that beat Liddell. I think Jackson would take him to be honest. Give him a fight against someone like Ortiz, Griffin or even Liddell see how he copes.

To be honest I have been following Shogun since he started out and boy o boy when he first came on the scene he was a monster ... he just finished fighters so quickly blink and you might miss it. Pure aggression, since then as with a lot of fighters hes been adding tricks to his game to become more well rounded and for me its actually taken the edge off him. I was not excited when I seen him on the card. I have watched him fight many many times and he has not been exciting for awhile ... great fighter yes .. exciting ? on the ground a genius and if you like watching tactical matches hes your man

Crop cop on the otherhand was a little bit of a let down to be honest .. but hey put to guys in the ring with no fixing and lets see who walks out with there arm raised .. thats all I want to see

Parisyan is a beast for a man in his early 20s. His throws are second to none, and he is very well rounded. Has an awful lot of experience for such a young fighter, and is about as natural as you can get.

Just watched that clip, should be an interesting close up fight, and man, he nailed that submission, he was very lucky he did not get knocked out before he got the chance to submit Silva.

Not suprised at Coture to be honest. Isnt he like 45 anyway. Houston Alexander is going to be an animal over the next couple of years. I saw him at UFC75 and he destroyed his opponent in 30 seconds or so. Beast of a man.
                      *Except Michael, who died.

Seen his fight against Silva tonight, or last night in the states, was unimpressed with Alexander, showed himself up to be very one dimensional fighter. At 35, how long more can he go, surely he is a good few fights away from a title fight now.

                          UFC 78 Validation

Anyone else watching the UFC tonight, have been unimpressed so far, every one of the main headline fights have been a let down, in what looked like a promising night of fighting. Bisping and Evans up next, I fancy Evans to show up Bisping tonihgt, although Bisping loos bigger than I ever remember him.
