First I heard of it mate.
I asked him a while back and he said he wasn't going or didn't answer.
I would have met him had I known. Anyway I can get in touch to organise it?
Bill shankly to Tommy Smith after he'd turned up for training with a bandaged knee:
'Take that poof bandage off, and what do you mean YOUR knee, it's LIVERPOOL'S knee !'

"Sorry, boss, I should have kept my legs together," said Lawrence. "No, Tommy, your mother should have kept her legs together!," replied Shankly.

Just watched the third episode of 24/7.

Both guys seem focused but Floyd seems a bit over confident. When he was asking Roger Mayweather to 'throw a Ricky Hatton hook' and was ducking out of the way and countering as if it'd be that easy. I guess it is easy when your asking someone to throw the hook but he wont know it's coming on Saturday, will he?

Hattons quote was superb though. 'If he beats me he's earned it, he wont though!'

          Looking forward to this one.

I missed it. What was the jist of it? I agree with you on Steve Bunce. How that guy is managing to earn a crust as a media personality is beyond me.

Bunce went to Las Vegas and looked at how both camps are preparing. He obviously was bias toward Hatton and talked to him more. He said Hatton has a look that he has never seen before in Hatton and has previously seen in fighters who have won titles.

Mayweather was unable to take part in the segment however interviewed Roger Mayweather who said Hatton is forwards and backwards, bull**** punches and body punches which Floyd will take care of. Bunce believed that Mayweather was chilling out in his rented gaff and was injured or wasn't prepared to talk to the British media. I know, Bunce is a tool.

Bunce concluded with a prediction that Hatton will win because the Americans have underestimated Hatton and he will pull off a surprise. The other idiot (not Gabby Logan) said Mayweather will win because he is more technically sound but he is rooting for Hatton.

The videos are there http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/boxing/default.stm. Not sure whether it is the full report or not.

                  Nice one.

Roger Mayweather's always been known to discredit Floyds opponents but I think that they see Hatton as a serious threat even if they don't admit it in public.

Mayweather is currently the best in the business, there's no doubting that, but there just seems to be a confidence and determination about Hatton that we saw in the build up to the Tszyu fight. That's not say that I'm 100% convinced Ricky will win but if Mayweather is even slightly underestimatng him he's in for a big shock.

What is the deal with Hatton's cuts and Mayweather's hands? There is talk that Cortes will stop the fight on Hatton being cut and Mayweather is going to put pressure on Cortes for a TKO.

Hatton's a bleeder, always has been. Mayweather will look to open Ricky up and hope that he can do some damage. Forunately Ricky has one of the best cutsmen going in Mick Williason and has never been stopped on cuts due to his excellent corner work.

Cortes will let the fight go and wont stop it prematurely, he'll give the cornerman the chance to do their work, however if a cut is that bad and it's only getting worse he has a duty to put the fighters health first.

Cortes is a tough ref, very impartial, and wont be told what to do by either corner and wont be swayed by anyone. He makes his own decisionsand will only take advice on stopping the fight on cuts from the ringside doctor.

He also lets fighters fight their fight and only steps in if it's really messy or someone hits below the belt or other fouls.

This is not the ref that Team Mayweather wanted, they wanted Jay Nady who is as pro Mayweather as you can get. That's not to say that I think they cheat I just think he's very bias towards hometown boys or the big names.

I wouldn't worry about Cortes. He's the best ref that could have been appointed for this fight.

Yeah watched the program tonight, have to say, the more I see of Hatton the more I think he could cause a shock. Although I still think he will loose.
Good sparring partner Floud got himself there in Carlos Baldomir. I expect Mayweather to be very very prepared for Ricky.
I would like to see who Ricky has to mimic Floyds fighting style. Have heard nothing about that to date.
If Ricky can get in close, he has every chance. One thing I will say in defence of Ricky. He will never have come up against a fighter with such a come forward agressive style as Ricky. Baldomir will be good preparation for Floyd though.

Cool. I know of Cortes, he has done some big fights but are the rumours true that the scorecards between De La Hoya and Mayweather were mixed up?

                            I think that's just speculation.

If a mistake had been made it would have been rectified afterwards.

I've seen it happen before where someone gets announced the winner in the ring only to have the decision reversed once the scorecards have been verified again.

Honestly, I wouldn't worry about Joe Cortes. He'll let Ricky do what he has to do, so long as it's with in the rules ofcourse.

He doesn't let anyone make decisions for him, he's seen it all before, he's his own man.
