    BBC Sports Personality contenders

Calzaghe all the way for me, however knowing this country Lewis Hamilton will probably win. Who would you pick?

Joe Calzaghe - Undisputed world super-middleweight boxing champion.

Lewis Hamilton - World championship runner-up in his rookie Formula One season.

Ricky Hatton - Fights Floyd Mayweather for WBC world title on eve of show.

Andy Murray - Broke into the world top 10 despite an injury that ruled him out of Wimbledon.

Christine Ohuruogu - Returned from one-year ban for missing three drugs tests to land world 400m title in Osaka. Should she even be there?

Paula Radcliffe - Won the New York Marathon just 10 months after giving birth to a baby daughter.

Jason Robinson - Retired after playing key part in England making the Rugby World Cup final.

Justin Rose - Captured golf's European Order of Merit title.

James Toseland - Claimed the World Superbikes Championship for the second time.

Jonny Wilkinson - Shrugged off injury to help England to Rugby World Cup final.

    What?

You mean she didn't give birth on the pavement during the marathon?

So basically, by rights it should be out of:
Calzaghe, Hatton, Radcliffe, Rose and Toseland.

Toseland won't win it because it's a low profile sport. I actually think Ricky Hatton will win it but Calzaghe SHOULD win it.
That said, Calzaghe should have won it last year, and doubtless was a more worthy winner for several other years.

After last years fiasco I think Graham Poll will win it

Im no Golf fan but from what iv seen Justin Rose has been brilliant this year. Outplayed just about everyone. Tiger woods couldnt keep up with him.

The way he's going at the moment, if he can keep it up (Which he looks like doing btw) he could be the next world number 1

                  Give him the award

It has to be Calzaghe unless a member of the royal family turned up at a polo event or got on a horse in the last 12 months, in which case theyll be a shoe-in.

He'd have to win almost everything for 2 years to catch Tiger points wise to become world number 1.

I agree though if he can win a major next year he's got a great chance of being number 2.

He's turning into a great player.

Lewis Hamilton has nailed it. Despite being a little prick he still managed to perform consistently well throughout a long and very difficult first season. We Brits love a loser also, so I think all the smart money is on him.

                          He's a loser though, a choker.

Give him the Swiss broadcasting company personality of the year, mind you Federer owns that

If Hatton wins this Saturday, then it's his - end of. The only doubt is would he have enough time to attract the requisite amount of votes.

Given that he'd have about 15 hours, the answer would surely have to be 'no'.

                            Who cares though - it's ****!
Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

Plus he won't be in the studio for the big wank-off as the trophy is handed out.

****ing hate that program, they always have tossers on who come out with (un)amusing anecdotes about "the day we put itching powder in their jodhpurs or some ****e like that".
Then they have some wanky reconstruction from 1950 which no-one can remember.

Not one of the people/presenters who actually say anything on that show have ever had what could be mistakenly called a personality. Waste of my licence fee
