I admired the Australia teams of the late 80s and early 90s that used to kick our ass at will (was it McDermott or someone like that who'd get 30 wickets in every series?!)

Current team gives cricket a bad name. Bad sportsmanship personified. No respect for them whatsoever - they're the Manchester United of cricket, and that's NOT meant as a compliment.

        Yeah that's true.
Bad decisions are part of the game. Aussies won fair and square, it's not their fault the umpires had a **** one.
As for racial slurs. There's no place for that in any sport and should feel the maximum penalty

The only fair player the aussies have in their team is Gilly, he should be captain

Just can't believe the audacity of the Aussies to complain. Pathetic.
Now you can imagine the disbelief of those good people in the southern states of America, when someone had the nerve to call them slave drivers in the 19th century. What a cheek!

I'd be more gobsmacked and disappointed if the Aussies didn't complain.

How can any right minded person criticise someone who highlights racial discrimination?

Firstly, please don't accuse me or even imply that I'm racist or condoning racism.

We're all applying our own moral systems here, rather than considering the Indian's.

I'm considering the person who said it (if he said it), along with the abuse the Aussies dish out. Apparently, '*******' is just as offensive to Indians and 'monkey' isn't an offensive term in India - they're basically calling you ugly and it's aimed at other Asians as well.

All I'm saying, is that this should have been sorted out in the dressing room. You can tell if someone's not aware of the offense they've caused, and the point is the Australians have been just offensive in Indian's Moral System. The Aussies could have complained to Tendalkur and had it out in the changing rooms.

But why do that, when they can stick together and get a key player banned

BTW Has it been proven that he knew Symonds was black (or of Caribbean origin)?! I've seen him play countless times and genuinely didn't know.

Aside - I had to LMAO earlier at SSN when they freely said Monkey during the interview, but when someone SPELLED '*******' they apologised

Didn't say/imply you're condoning racism, just that you criticised someone for highlighting racial discrimination.
If he didn't realise that Symmonds was black, where is his apology? I haven't heard of one and it should be public and instant.
The match referee would take all the possibilities into account before reaching his decision, if Harb had sais "I didn't realise he was afro-carribean" then that would be taken into account.

                      I know you didn't.

We don't know what's been said behind the scenes. If the Indian player feels he has been as insulted just as much or more than he has insulted Oz players then I can see why he hasn't... so far.

It's an insult, not racism is my point

                        You think?

So football fans in the balkans who make monkey noises at black england players, are they racist?
If they are, then is there any difference?

They know it's racist i.e very offensive to the people they're saying it to.

Singh's clearly been ignorant. But so has the Australian team, in particular Hogg and the retarded Bush-alike

So you base your judgement on the hope that Harbs didn't know Symmonds was Afro-Caribbean?

I am from India and my mom has called me a monkey infinite number of times while growing up. It is a commonly used for scolding misbehaving kids and is not considered racist in any way.

But that does not condone Bhajji if he had called symonds a monkey. When your in a different culture it is your responsibility to adhere to the customs of that culture. If he had actually called Symonds a monkey I would support let alone a 3 match even a 10 match ban as he should have had better sense.

But the question here is did he? Is there any proof. Considering the way the Indian team has campaigned in support of him I dont think so. I trust Sachin Tendulkar more than Ricky Ponting. Considering that there is no substantial evidence I think the ban was harsh.

And I hope Proctor will be equally harsh on Hogg.

                                No.

Because for Indians it's not a racist insult

My only point about Symonds race is that if Singh didn't know then you can't even call him ignorant.
