It's not his pants that are full of crap..
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

I thought he did extemely well escaping the sack. As for the pass, his receiver made him look good - it was up for grabs.Originally posted by AFII View PostFantastic pass in probably the most pressured situation of his career.I'm playing all the right notes. Not necessarily in the right order. I'll give you that, sunshine.

As an American, I much prefer real football to American football, but that doesnt mean that its not a sport. I would suggest that its perhaps the most complicated organized sport being played today. Its extremely physically demanding and highly technical. Its a little different from ****ting in your pants.Originally posted by disco View PostI'm going to make up my own game, called Discoball.
Oh, I'm the best player in the world

It's kind of an empty boast.
It would be like Fredo boasting he's best in the world at ****ting his pants.
And the difference between NFL/MLB and real football is that there are leagues in multiple countries in footy. Which means you have a choice of where you play the sport. For NFL and MLB they are without question the highest level of competition available in the sport. People from many countries come here to compete in these two leagues and thus the leagues are being contested by people from all over the world. Even though the two sports are only predominantly played in this country, that doesn't mean its the same as discoball FFS. Baseball in particular is played by a lot of central americans as well as japanese and all their best players play in MLB.
And btw, my local baseball club (The Reds) was formed in 1869, which I believe was before the foundation of the Football League. You guys always want to bash Americans for not understanding your culture/sport and for making assumptions about "soccer" that are untrue. You can at least show the respect that you'd like to be shown, even if we don't deserve it.Custard's OK

At least the americans are actually the best at Gridiron. So its accurate enough to call themselves world champions.
However don't Cuba usually beat the All Star Team (whatever its called) at Rounders?"that is my opinion and that is more important than what anyone else has to say about it" - Mr A.Fergusson, Oct 2011

Your having a laugh aren't you pal, there was only an injury time stoppage in the 1st qtr the game flew pastOriginally posted by ShaggyAlonso View PostI half-watched about twenty minutes of it last night and couldn't believe the number of stoppages - they were actually cutting to the pundits in the studio for analysis mid-game during one of the millions of stoppages!

I watched the 1st quarter on TV3 in Ireland. When they were going to ad breaks in the US, they didn't even bother going to breaks on TV3. So you'd get a view of the stadium, with the commentators chatting away and clearing their throats for the next 30 seconds of commentary..................... before another ad break.Originally posted by ShaggyAlonso View PostI half-watched about twenty minutes of it last night and couldn't believe the number of stoppages - they were actually cutting to the pundits in the studio for analysis mid-game during one of the millions of stoppages!
Well, here we are in a room with two manky hookers and a racist dwarf. I think I'm heading home.

I think you have to watch a game for a while to get the rhythm of it. So, for instance, in American Football it's all stop/start whereas in football the action ebbs and flows and in cricket nothing much ever happens.Originally posted by ShaggyAlonso View PostI half-watched about twenty minutes of it last night and couldn't believe the number of stoppages - they were actually cutting to the pundits in the studio for analysis mid-game during one of the millions of stoppages!
It takes a while to get the rhythm of a sport.
Anyway, complaining about all the stoppages in the Superbowl is just like complaining that cricket is too boring - there are meant to be stoppages in the Superbowl and cricket is supposed to be boring..
