Any boxer would get slaughtered against a top class well rounded MMA fighter, but in a boxing ring, Jones has to be a clear favourite.
This is just dandannery of the highest order. They have no right 'fighting' each other.

Jones ought to be sitting at home with his feet up rejoicing in the fact that he as one of the best ever boxers.

Silva's an absolute beast and ought to concentrate on continuing his dominance of the the UFC.

Cant really look at it any other way myself mate, I did watch a rather long video of Anderson Silva boxing training before though, and he is well used to a boxing ring, he is an excellent world class striker, but against Jones, jones's technically ability and power would be too much for him.

I feel it is all about money now(even though I thought he would have been loaded), or just maybe pride, but he should hang his gloves up.

Silva would be my favourite, he is also very well rounded, but his ground game is not as highlighted as much as his stand-up, his stand-up is far and away the best in all MMA too. I would think that GSP's only chance would be to out wrestle the spider who has an excellent take down defence.
If GSP tries to stand-up and fight with Silva, it is lights out for GSP. I do acknowledge that GSP's stand-up is top class too, but silva is a different kind of striker to everyone else in MMA.
Would be a hell of a main event though.
Bill shankly to Tommy Smith after he'd turned up for training with a bandaged knee:
'Take that poof bandage off, and what do you mean YOUR knee, it's LIVERPOOL'S knee !'

"Sorry, boss, I should have kept my legs together," said Lawrence. "No, Tommy, your mother should have kept her legs together!," replied Shankly.

        * After Tommy Lawrence had let in a fluke goal between his legs

Dana White has refused to let Anderson take the fight anyway. Shame, i'd love to see it!

You'd seriously like to see RJJ vs Anderson Silva?

            Why?

Curiosity, i want to know how good Andersons stand up really is. It's the same as me wanting The Sherk vs Mayweather fight to happen when that was being talked up, the same reason i wanted to see if Royce Gracie really stood a chance against Matt Hughes, the same reason i wanted to see Brock Lesner fight Frank Mir!

Hell, I'll watch 2 cats fighting in my garden, if i can get to see 2 legends of 2 different sports go at it, of course i'm going to want to see it!

Why would you not want to see it?!

It's not going to prove anything. MMA and boxing are two completely separate different sports. It'd be like watching Liverpool vs Essex playing cricket. A totally pointless exercise.

I'd rather see Silva continue to clean out the middleweight division and then move up to light-heavy and fight the likes of Jackson.

As for RJJ shame on him if he even considered getting involved in this circus act of a fight. We should be discussing RJJ him in terms of being one of the best boxers of all time not because there's a chance he'll fight the current middleweight UFC champion.

                  you'd still watch it though

Oh come on, it's nowhere near as bad as Mayweather wrestling!

Besides, Anderson has boxed proffesionally in brazil so its hardly the same as your "Essex v Liverpool" analogy. Its more like a breast stroke swimmer taking on a back stroke swimmer to see who's the fastest.

Its a mute point anyway, as i said earlier the fight is not going to happen as Dana White doesn't want to risk Anderson losing.

                      Jesus Christ. GSP versus Silva.

I love GSP to bits but I reckon Silva would be a bridge too far.
It's not good because it's rude. It's good because it looks like it's good because it's rude.

Silva would kick his ass 90% of the time.
GSP's only chance would be on the ground and he would have to wrestle him down. Silva is well known for having excellent take ddown defence (The Spider silva).
If there is a fighter out there who prepares for fights as hard as GSP does, it is Silva.
