Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.
May the Lord bless this post.

Well, that is good, I agree but only because we scored.Originally posted by ShaggyAlonso View PostHahaha.
The one I've bolded is pure Davies - 'Oh I say'.

I remember his commentary for Fowler's goal against Alaves....
"Fowler on the left....Owen makes a run....Fowler hangs on...AND SCORES! Oh I say that's wonderful! That's wonderful! That's Boys' Own stuff!"

The first one is also pure Davies - when they still allowed him to commentate on football he was always slagging off Italy...
Of course that's why you like him.

No but I can only imagine he was right about Italy - when they do lose they invariably have themselves to blame.
Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

I don't mind admitting I'd rather sound like him than look like him..
