yep, although they should have modeled the bmx racing on DK jungle track with a rising ramp. Any chance S Reade actually slipped on an invisible bananna thrown by the french lass.

This is just too good to be true, and you forget about our win against Poland, who drew against France in their group. This could be the greatest achievement in team sports since their invention. Perhaps Norwegians would disagree after beating Russia in the women's final. Every Icelander and his dog will be up at 8 am gmt for the men's final. And we have two of the best players in the world: our captain/philosopher (and beeper) and the best left-handed player, and our playmaker. And our First Lady says that we are "stórasta" (something like "biggerishist") country, she's from Britain you know.

They got well beat yeah, but I think it was more down to a change in attitude than anything else, they had been really upbeat and positive for the other games but they looked more serious now, it was like they were thinking about winning this one at all costs rather than just playing as well as they could and staying positive.

Still a magnificent achievement, I think this is the first time a country with less then a million inhabitants wins a medal in team sports (we are about 310.000).

It was disappointing to see France full of confidence and hunger to win (and a goalie out of this world!), but our players finally couldn't override their usual bad spell, against the best team in the world. That doesn't take anything away from our lads great heroics; silver is always nice.

Asafa Powell has just run 9.72 in Lausanne! The second fastest time ever.

Why oh why can't he do it when it matters. Imagine if he'd turned up in Beijing!

Phenomenal stuff. Now I dont want to start another thread like the Paula Radcliffe one but I cant helping thinking this sudden, massive improvement in Jamaican sprinting is very suspicious.
