Couldn't care less about the women's side of the draw, but the men's side is looking very exciting.

Nadal and Djokovic are safely through and looking strong whilst Murray has been made to work extremely hard for his inclusion.

Four time defending champion Rodger Federer hasn't dropped a set yet and plays his third round match later today.

Apparently there's an up and coming lad from Argentina who is worth keeping an eye on, Del Potro.

Roll on week two, when it really starts hotting up....

Despite that he's look well shakey, he's been abysmal on break points and serving pretty poor. Still easily enough to get away with it against the nobodies but he's going to have to raise it against Stepanek. Hopefully he does. Im desperate to see him win this but I dont think he can at the minute.

I watched his last match and as you stated in another thread he's "an unforced error machine" at the moment. The aura of invincibility that once surrounded him has well and truly dissapeared.

Still, played six sets won six sets, so can't complain. Looking forward to seeing how he does today against talented opposition.

British number one Andy Murray insists he has no scores to settle with Juan Martin Del Potro ahead of their US Open quarter-final match on Wednesday.

Murray accused the in-form 19-year-old Argentine of insulting his mother Judy after beating him in Rome in May.

But Murray said: "I haven't spoken to him since so, whether there is unfinished business or not, it's just another tennis match to me.

"Whether I like Del Potro or not does not really make any difference."

The match in Rome, which Murray won when Del Potro was forced to retire with a back injury in the third set, is their only previous meeting.

They initially clashed earlier in the same match when the Scot felt Del Potro had smashed a drive volley at his head without apologising.

But Murray says he is unmoved by the lack of subsequent contact and says any ill-feeling will not distract him from his goal of a first Grand Slam semi-final.

"I've known Del Potro since we were really young," Murray explained. "It doesn't really bother me.

"I wasn't great friends with him before. I don't need to be friends with him now. So, no, I'm not surprised."

Del Potro, the 17th seed, has won four Tour titles this year and is unbeaten in his last 23 matches.

Murray, who had never been beyond the fourth round at Flushing Meadows before this year, knows he will have his hands full if he is to progress.

"He doesn't miss a whole lot and he moves pretty well for a big guy," added Murray.

"He does everything good, he's got a good crosscourt backhand, he just hits the ball hard and solid and he doesn't make a whole lot of mistakes.

"When you watch him I don't think you see anything that's unbelievably special but when you're playing as solid as he does, you don't miss that many balls and you've got confidence and you don't lose for a while you come through matches and he's done that these last few months."

But Murray, who will rise one place in the world rankings to number five on the back of his progress at the US Open, is full of confidence himself.

He took Stanislas Wawrinka apart on Monday, dropping only seven games on his way to victory, and says he will be ready for whatever Del Potro throws at him.

"In Slams the only important thing is to win the matches but to play like I did against Stan is obviously great because it's a bit of extra confidence that I'll get.

"It wasn't such a long match so I'm not going to be tired and I'll get a good rest day.

"It's going to be a tough match against Del Potro but I think I'm playing well enough to win."

Murray's match with the Argentine has been scheduled as the third on Arthur Ashe court.

Murray should win I think, Del Potro's confidence is sky high but this winning streak doesnt actually contain that many good players, Roddick in crisis is about the best. Definitely nothing to fear.

Theres a womens doubles match and Safina v Penneta on court from 4pm our time then Murray. Whatever happens in them matches Murray wont be on before 7pm our time so just keep flicking and checking. Should be before 8pm hopefully.
