It's fast approaching and I for one can't wait. It'll be 3 days in front of the box enjoying this bi-annual golf fest. Anybody else looking forward to it?
Not surprised by the wildcard choices but I would've liked to have seen one of Montgomerie or Clarke selected. Their experience can't be over-estimated. Oh well.
Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

I reckon you're right mate, personally I would have gone for Clarke rather than Monty, even though Monty is normally fantastic in the Ryder Cup this time round his form has not been good enough while Clarke coming off the win in Holland last week is hitting form just at the right time.
"Sky and Setanta have the right to choose their games and it will be the same for everyone. So Mr Ferguson will not be complaining about fixtures and a campaign against United.
"Or there is another option. That Mr Ferguson organises the fixtures in his office and sends it to us and everyone will know and cannot complain. That is simple."
by the way each year europe have a weaker team on paper, maybe not this time round. but we cant keep beating them. the run has to end
faldo is still a ****** - can we agree on that??

thought it was a storng europe team, but Monty and or Clarke should have gone.
Cant help but think Poulter was given the nod a few weeks agoand that was why he ****ed off to America rather than play for the final place in Europe.
For the first time I have complete confidence we will win it again.

I think taking Poulter ahead of Clarke is madness, in fact i would have rather seen Kaymer or Dougherty go instead of Poulter. These lads are the future of the European Tour and should be given the experience, I mean one Cup doesn't make Poulter significantly more experienced. Dougherty would have probably made the team on merit if he hadn't losty his mother (and his form) mid season as he was cruising and to be honest other than the Open I'm struggling to remember a good Poulter performance this year.
As for Casey, well if he starts holing some putts! I can't see Oliver Wilson getting much of a look in except for maybe the singles so suppose Casey is the obvious choice. If anything though it just shows that Faldo has watched considerably more Golf in the US than in Europe this year, which given what he does for a living is an obvious staement I suppose.
A lot of people run a race to see who is fastest. I run to see who has the most guts, who can punish himself into exhausting pace, and then at the end, punish himself even more.

the poulter worry has to be how it will affect team spirit i think
and it also creates a precedent in so much as play where you want when you want and you will still make the team
faldo and poulter will get hammered if we dont win
Faldo will balls this up big time. Criminal not to select Darren Clarke. Europes big asset is their team spirit and very few people on the tour actually like Faldo.
If the USA team didnt look so **** on paper I would fancy us to lose this.
