    Ewen Murray can feck off

    "Faldo Fails in Valhalla"

Too much emphasis is placed on the captain in these events. At the end of the day Westwood, Garcia,Harrington failed to show up. Poulter and Rose saved our respectability.

Yeah I feel sorry for Faldo. The man is one of the few sporting greats from this country in the last few decades, he dominated the sport and also has a phenomenal Ryder Cup record.

He can take the stick though, he'll look at his titles and his bank balance and say "**** it"

Exactly right. I think he did a good job this week, only some players let him down and everyone knows it.

As a player he was ruthless and that was his way of winning and the media hated him, now he's mellowed out a bit, they look to bite at him as much as possible.

Shame we fell just short - what a ****ing great event. Top entertainment....pure theatre.

No one ****ing likes Faldo though do they? Do you really think the camp had the same spirit as last time? I'm not blaming him but if must have played a part...you guys are right though, few too many didn't show up at times and the US played some cracking golf. The crowd played a massive part imo, but well done to them (cuntishness aside). Was great entertainment though, sense of inevitability about it all today though

He also looked a lot like Indiana Jones which is why I havn't got a bad word to say about him!

Justin Rose is now my firm favourite for the future though.

Actually if I was a player and was asked to play under faldo in the ryder cup, i would be inspired/honoured, 6 time major winner. there are not many people who can say that.

I'm actually not too upset the Yanks won. The competition needed a US fightback, last time it was too one sided. Gives the Europeans something to fight for next time.
I think that's the reason the spirit wasn't the same, I think it's the intensity that wasn't the same. A lot of the players thought all they had to do was turn up.
                  Can't wait for 2010

To be fair to the Yanks, their players have totally outplayed Europe save a few exceptions - Poulter.

Poulter was Faldo's wildcard and he's been one of the best europeans if not THE best.

I'm very disappointed with Garcia and Harrington. Their games have gone to rat **** and Harrington is meant to be the best in the world.

Can't blame Faldo, big guns have played **** and the Yanks have been superb. Well done america

I feel a bit sorry for Faldo, whoever captained the European team that lost to the Yanks was going to be made a scapegoat. As a non-playing captian there's feck all you can do if your big guns don't show up.

also i think casey was a bad pick - he hasnt putted well for ages and for me didnt justify his place

although the fact i had a £50 acca last night on perry/rose/karlsson and casey may be swaying my judgement

I agree though. I would've gone with Clarke over Casey - he is the most unconvincing putter I've seen for a long time........apart from Sergio when he's on a downer.

well gutted it's over but what an event - really enjoyed watching this over the weekend, to the point were on saturday night i was glued to the telly.

Europe battled hard and gace it their all but it just wasn't happening for them - poulter was fantastic and casey on the final day was unlucky to only half due to a freak putt on the 17th by Mahan.

I think the main shock to me was how good three americans were - kim, weekley, holmes - all cunts like but they were sheer class from start to finish.

Although i like faldo, and i didn't really question his wild card picks I did feel the team lacked that elder statesman type - maybe we missed monty and clarke but maybe faldo thought the likes of garcia, jimenez and harrington have played plenty of ryder cups to fill that role.
i own everton fans on the internet....that's what i do

got to say the yanks deserved this win. the couple of rednecks they have really played well last day...

which of them was on about the great feeling shooting a deer??? was it bo weekley??

harrington garcia just didnt do it this week and being the supposed top two players for europe they would have been expected to lead by example

i personally think rafa would have done a better job if he was captain - foursomes fourballs two days followed by singles, its tough and tactics and rotation play a big part - "always i say the same for some of the older players they cannot play two days in a row for sure so i have to use my sqwad"

"Sky and Setanta have the right to choose their games and it will be the same for everyone. So Mr Ferguson will not be complaining about fixtures and a campaign against United.

"Or there is another option. That Mr Ferguson organises the fixtures in his office and sends it to us and everyone will know and cannot complain. That is simple."

What the **** was Weekly on galloping down the first fairway like a bloody horse.

                                Not particularly golf etiquette.

Thoroughly enjoyed it all weekend. Shame about the outcome but maybe the Europeans were starting to get a bit complacent after dominating the last decade or so.
