If you did I didn't take any notice. Was it any good? I have to say that velodromes never look like ideal venues for spectators to me. How big was the crowd?

The capacity is 3500 and it was sold out although it wasn't full until evening. Your ticket is for both sessions; the first one ran from 12.30 until 5.55 and the evening one started at 6.45 and finished about 10.40 (although we ducked out after Pendleton had won).

It got a bit much to be honest and after a while, as I said, I got seasick.

We were right in the middle of the front row but on the side opposite the home straight. They go right up the banking and, depending on the event, sometimes whizz past about a foot away from you which can be quite unnerving.

It was great although I think I'd probably not go for the whole day next time.

Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.
