Best ever British professional road rider.
.
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.
May the Lord bless this post.

Anyway, the reason for bumping the thread was that Cavendish has just won two stages of the Tour of Missouri, meaning he's won 23 races this season. That's only 18 less than Chris Boardman won in his entire career.
And Boardman is the second most successful British road race rider ever.

And a really good system.Originally posted by kev776 View PostIt has to be said that Cavendish is a special athlete, he is proof that a sport with proper funding and training can produce winners.
Athletics has been very well funded for well over a decade but has, until very recently, failed due to the poor system and, possibly, poor coaching (although I think that's far more debatable). The elite cycling program under Keen initally and then Brailsford (who has really developed it) has been very well structured.
And it's only going to get even better with the new Protour team.

Arvesen really knows the game. Likes to crash.
Boasson Hagen is a great talent.
The last guy, who is average, a water carrier. (Nordhaug is his name)Blank

Cavendish celebrating his second victory of the season yesterday.

In the live TV interview afterwards he also talked about "journalists who know jack**** about cycling."

Yes, Richard Williams of The Guardian, that's you..
