    Arm at right angle, nose only touching floor if it's a foot long or something...........

    I did the initial challenge today and got 26 best effort. Start the test proper on Monday.

    Be interesting to see who can keep it up and get to 100! I'm starting with best intentions, but never seem to keep going!

      26 is bloody good going. I think 12 is the most I've ever managed - of all exercises I've always found push-ups the hardest.

      Think I'll have a look at this programme.

        onto week 2, middle column.....didnt realise how much of the body press ups work.....even thinking of going for the 200 sit up challenge on days off

          Always been the case for me. Even when I was as fit as anything I still only ever got a maximum of 50 best ever. Be delighted if I hit 100!

          Started week one today. It suggested to start on week 3 with 26, but what with me having done no exercise for a LONG time I thought best to start at week 1, in column three.

          It was the right choice methinks as I didn't find it as easy as I'd have liked. What with running now on the other days I guess I'm just not used to it. Feeling determined though!

            Well I did not do the push up challenge but today I am finishing a strict Atkins Induction 14 day program and the wieght has just dropped off me. I have not weighted myself yet, will do that tonight at midnight when its over .. but **** me regardless of the wieght .. the visiable effects of just 14 days are amazing ..

            Anybody looking to lose a few pounds .. I cant reccomend it more

            Big Omllette Mushrooms Bacon and Cheese for Breaky
            Fired Chickern and Salad for lunch
            Some kind of Meat and Salad for lunch
            Drink plenty of water
            No Alchol
            do this for 14 days and you lose at least 3 to 4 KG maybe more

              fair play done an atkins myself.....

              think i stuck to mainly sausages, mackerel and salad

              but worked a treat to be fair, combined with the gym i lost 10 kg in 2 weeks.

                Seriously - give us a bit more info on this, how did you find it, was it easy, did u feel tired or hungry during the day

                I would like to shift a bit of weight off, nothing silly but i reckon that would be ideal for me - esp know that the footie season is coming to an end so I won't be playing as much - on paper it looks tooo easy - for starters, i like all the food above etc - my main concern tho is 'snacking' and NO ALCOHOL - with out trying to be a pain in the arse, could u give us a bit of run through on what u did, how u coped etc.
                i own everton fans on the internet....that's what i do

                  I'm doing the first 2 weeks of Atkins at the moment funnily enough. It's just strictly no carbs whatsoever basically so you burn fat instead of carbs/sugar. No coffee, alcohol or really any fruit though. No alcohol is going to be a killer for me

                  At first or for a few days you might feel a bit off but it's cos you're withdrawing from sugar and all that ****e. After a week or so you'll feel good
                  Sack swinging like Dub-D40 on a door hinge

                    Any good sites etc for this program - just to try and give me an idea.

                    I reckon on paper i could do it - i have seen some example meals like above and think i would be fine - for me though it would be the commitment and getting into the routine that i would find most difficult!! Other than turning up for work and football on time I have zero routine in my life, i just basically eat/drink what i want when i am hungry/thirsty - so breaking those habits and sticking to a routine I rekcon I would find difficult!! but it is only for 2weeks!!! surely i can do that.

                    Oh and the alcohol haha - i will struggle with that,

                      Are you doing it to lose weight, or for general health reasons? Because you don't need to lose weight

                          got this email from one of my sales guys who advised me on what to do and take...........

                          Cutting out carbs isn't easy, remember this is a 2wks project, it means cutting out sugar in take, please see the following...

                          Stop taking for 2wks

                          Fruit ( any type )
                          Pasta ( any dish )
                          Potatoes ( any type )
                          Chocolate
                          Sugar
                          Milk
                          Cakes
                          Sweets
                          Beer ( any type )
                          Cereal
                          Tomatoes
                          Peppers

                          Things to take for 2wks

                          Meat ( any type )
                          Eggs ( any type )
                          Fish ( fresh or caned )
                          Green veg ( brochile )
                          Cheese
                          Water
                          Diet Drink ( any type )
                          Green salad

                              I think you can't drink coffee..I'm not sure, I read it somewhere so decided not to just in case. You've gotta drink 1.5/2 litres of water a day as well

                                **** - the stop taking part - well thats basically my whole diet! hahahaha

                                See i'd say 4/5 times a week i will have pasta with some sort of meat and i also add peppers and tomatoes to it so thats a blow

                                On the plus side - i am quite happy eating all the stuff on the things to eat list.

                                What i need is a shopping list of what to buy for the two weeks and then a set program laid out - ie

                                Mon - breakfast scrambled eggs, lunch prawn salad, tea steak and salad etc etc
                                i own everton fans on the internet....that's what i do
