Hmm, you might not feel the same when it comes to the checkout! Annoying that healthy eating is also expensive eating!
I know exactly what you mean about being hungry, however you may well find that eating what you will be doing means that you wont be hungry in between meals? Foods such as wholemeal bread/pasta/rice are digested slower meaning that you dont feel hungry as quickly. On the flipside, high sugar foods or high cal carbs are broken down much quicker, meaning that you crave food more. Specifically, you'll crave sugars as your energy levels aren't sustained
Hmm, the 100 push up challenge hasn't been mentioned for a while, maybe a bored mod should seperate all this boring healthy bollocks from the true nature of the thread?!
- thats why i have had to wait till I get paid! - take today for example, a salad at asda was like £2.50 or large cornish pasty and packet of crisps came to 80p!
yeah - well i reckon the breakfast will be the major thing - i hear so many people go on about how it is the most important meal and as i mentioned the other day - mon to fri I never have any - so a big scrambled egg and toast breakfast may help.
I am going to tie this in with the 100 push challenge too
- S along with the diet i will play football Mon Thurs and Sun, and do the hundred push up malarky Mon Wed and Fri and also look to go jogging twice a week to make up for Saturday football ending!
I am actually really up for it!!i own everton fans on the internet....that's what i do

But you're correct. The Atkins is BOLLOCKS. I am an accredited practicing Dietitian....So I know.
Low carb is not the answer. People are so ****ing stupid sometimes and are always looking for the "magic pill" or "wand". In other words, the easy way out.
A diet with nothing but bacon, meat, cheese etc... = insane amounts of saturated fat = Heart Disease and constipation.
Your diet should be 50% carbs - good low GI carbs. Protein should make up roughly 20-30% and the other 20-30% should be fat (7% Saturated and the rest EFA's and poly and monounsaturated fats)
It is not rocket science. The reason people lose so much weight in the initial stages of a carb free diet is that glucose is a big ass molecule. When it leaves your body it draws water with it. All the fat cunts who lose that dramatic amount of weight in the first 2 weeks are losing WATER. Not fat. Get on a body composition machine to confirm it....I'm not lying.
Train hard - both cardio and weights. Not insanely though. Eat sensibly and in moderation. Lots of veges and whole grains. Lean meat and lots of fluid. Caffeine is ok, just not in excess. Keep the booze to a minimum as ethanol has almost as many kilojoules as Fat does.
Nuff said.
I was waiting for you to pop your head in here

I'm athletic ya cunt!! I play Indoor footy, ride my bike and walk to uni and back every day...i just dont go to the gym, as its a wank. Trying to eat well now also (apart from the friday night pizza
)
Im not the perfect physical specimen granted...but im trying to curb my ways. I regret eating so much **** as a kid now. It did taste good however.
When you have a brother thats a dietician you'd think the odd bit of info would sink in.

"looking through your posts since 2007 and what you have consistently written about my football team I have come to the conclusion that if you had 1 more brain cell you would be a plant .. your father was a hamster and your mother smells of elder berries, I fart in your general direction ..." Nicey

this thread is confusing!! of the push up challenge, not the atkins challenge!Originally posted by FatTony View Postso whats happened? How much weight have you dropped, do you exercise if so what are your energy levels like?
but for your info.......i did the atkins approx 4 months ago, i was 15st 2 and knew i was carrying a few pounds to much ( i am 6'2) nothing major just a bit of puppy fat After not doing any major exerscise for 6months and snacking etc.
I basically did a full atkins for 2 weeks, swim and ran on alternate days (30mins-45mins) and lost nearly a pound a day for 2 weeks! went from 15st 2 to 14st 3 .....never felt my energy levels drop and carried on since then running, swimming and comfortably under 14 now._____________________________________
Weak willed, Wank or do they have a masterplan?
Think we have the answer..Slot!!

exactly mate .. you use it with exercise and its a great way to get off the pounds fast .. you can revert to a more normal diet afterward s once you keep the exercise up and weight yourself weekly

Thats pretty impressive!! I didn't start it after all that, but did the initial test on Monday so am cracking on as of tomorrowOriginally posted by red g View Postwell when i started i could do 12 but struggled so i started in column 2. in total i was doing 25 over 5 sets and now.....upto 72 over 5 sets which is first day, week 2 middle column. Somewhat surprisingly, given my total lack of exercise over the past year and my thin girly arms, I did 26 proper pushups so will base it on that. Which is column 3, kinda wish I'd not tried so hard!!
I saw a dead fish on the pavement and thought "what did you expect?"

Only found this threadOriginally posted by Nicey View PostI'm in reasonable nick for a guy 35 years old, I do 50 lengths of a large swimming pool in 45 minutes most days weather permitting, usually hit the gym at least twice a week and do 40 minutes on the elliptical trainer, 75 sit ups and usually 3 sets of lat pull downs with some decent weights ...
Keeps me in good shape. Then I started MMA training .. **** me ... 10 Minutes on the running machine 20 minutes Circuit Training and 30 minutes sparing .. sweet jesus it knocks the stuffing out of you .. and particularly with the weight training you release just how little strenght you have in certain areas ..
Anyways I am really enjoying it, think I missed my calling something really pleasing about smacking the **** out of a heavybag .. starting to look to work on my conditioning in various different muscle groups ..
I enjoy the structured approach to building up strength and technique etc
Anyways like I said my Push ups are a real source of embarassment .. especially as my mate .. a Karate Black Belt and real wind up merchant in a good way trains with me .. So tomorrow it is ...Girly Push ups
I would be the same and run 5 days a week and consider myself pretty fit but have feck all upper body strength.
My mate can do 20-30 pull ups on the football bar when we do our runs while I am lucky to do 5. I can outrun the **&* eveyday but he owns me on his strength.
