So many variations, they all do different things.

Tucked in and close to your chest will work your triceps more. It's essentially like a dip.

Going to cut out the carbs at breakfast and lunch too. No more oats or oatcakes. I'm replacing them with a 3 egg omelette with cottage cheese (breakfast), and lettuce, cucumber and tomato for lunch (with a tin of sardines). I'm normal weight, but not toned, and according to the weighing scales, my body fat percentage is at a whopping 34%.
I meant to say, try to have both your feet and hands on an elevated position. You then can go deeper and need to be much more explosive on the way back up otherwise your face is hitting the floor

I wouldn't trust weighing scales for body fat. Get some callipers and do a pinch test. Callipers cost under a £5 on Amazon and come with instructions of where to pinch around your body.

Diet looks good. Throw in some spinach or broccoli with your omelette to get some protein. Avocado is needed too, healthy fats will keep you fuller, resulting in less carb binging

How do callipers work exactly? I've always been confused by them, because some people have saggy skin.

I need that deeper targeting in my chest area, so elevation with both hands and feet sound great for me.

They advise you to use them in certain areas, usually: tricep, waist and back and its a certain spot. You'd have to read the instructions and I'm positive there is guidance on Youtube.

Try it. Don't do it on your chest and tris day. You'll end up burning out and not having the strength to do your lifts.

Cheers fella, that's reassuring. I've just been out for 7.4k and tried much harder and my heart rate isn't getting so raised now. Must be a combination of losing a bit of weight and getting fitter again.

              Hey Phoenix.

I've been using the MyFitnessPal to log my calorie intake on my two 500 calorie days, it integrates with Strava so if you complete any exercise it adds your workout to your daily calorie allowance.

Here's the exciting bit (well to me anyway ) it also integrates with the Fitbit Aria scales by connecting through bluetooth to your mobile. The scales tell MyFitnessPal how many calories you should consume in order to lose or maintain your weight which is pretty cool. I'm getting a set for Xmas. £99 bathroom scales for Xmas

I've got a Fitbit bug or something that the Mrs bought me but I've never used it. Should really as it logs you daily steps which might give a better idea of calorie allowance.

The only only thing that I stumble up on is working out the calories in the booze I drink and meals out / takeaways

A *just* over a month update.

I started out absolutely ****e and put another 4 pound on, commitment

But got my arse in gear and lost 5 pound from my original weight, so going in the right direction, hopefully get where I wanna be by christmas.

Don't forget muscle weighs more than fat so weight can be a false indicator of how well you're doing

Really? I thought it was 5x heavier by volume. Don't know where I got that from. Sorry Gibbo

Technically yes, but I think the point Norbs is making is that you can lose body fat, appear thinner, yet weigh more on the scales due to the higher density of muscle over fat, so weight can be a false indicator as he says.
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

I'm lost as to how muscle can be denser and yet the same weight

Weird that they call it a myth. A 30cm cube of fat is much lighter than a 30cm cube of muscle, does that not make fat lighter than muscle?

1kg of fat weighs the same as 1kg of muscle.
