    Federer marries in hometown

    World number two Roger Federer has married his fiancee Mirka Vavrinec in his home town of Basel, Switzerland, he announced on his website.

    Federer met Vavrinec, a former top 100 player, in Sydney in 2000 and she is expecting the couple's first child.

    In a brief statement, Federer said it was a beautiful spring day and anincredibly joyous occasion.

      I would say you've lost it were it not for the fact you never actually had it in the first place.

              Fair play to him. He could have pretty much any woman he wanted, yet he remains faithful to his long-term munter. There’s something very admirable about that. What a gent.

                              I just think she's got a natural, girl-next-door look to her, not like some of these prima-donna, up their own arses, women. I find that appealing.
