I've thought long and hard about this fight.

I'm going to go with Pacman on points or a late stoppage due to cuts.

My reasoning being that Pacman is by far the better boxer. His speed and footwork is far superior to anything that Hatton has to offer. He won't engage in a war with Hatton, it'd be suicidal,

Roach will have devised a game plan and Pacman will execute it superbly.

The major misgiving i have in picking Pacman is Hattons size. Hatton will be at least 154 when he enters the ring. Pacmans never fought anyone that size before. Pacman is also suseptiable to body shots - albeit he last lost a fight due to body shots ten years ago - and Hatton is one of the best in the business with punches to the liver.

Really looking forward to this fight. Hatton has much more of a chance of winning this than he did against Pretty Boy Floyd.

There's been alot of talking in the media about this fight being for the linear pound for pound world title. Bollocks. You can't 'win' the pound for pound title in a single fight. Were Hatton to beat Pacman then Hatton would possibly be 4th or 5th in the pound for pound rankings. Pacman would possibly slip to 2 and JMM would move up to 1. You can't have a pound for pound champion who's only ever fought outside his prime weight twice, losing 1 of them.

Almost certainly fight of the year- Pacman to win, just cant see him losing because he is the better all round boxer. Only hope i think Hatton has is to get a big punch on Pacman early on in the fight. He needs to catch Pacman early with a big big blow

Hatton has moved his pre Vegas training camp to my gym and I'd see him each time I went in after work. He's been training in this same place for his last couple of fights and normally comes in pretty big and then trims right down. For this fight he came into the gym looking very trim for him and before he left he looked in great shape so he seems really focused on this one. Thought I saw FMS in there too but then thought he doesn't normally come over here to train him, got home that evening and saw him interviewed in my gym on ssn.

I canne wait for this fight either. Should be a classic. My heart says Hatton mind says Pacman. I'm gonna go with my heart and say Hatton in the later rounds (9 or 10) with a stoppage.

Tough figt to predict, im a fan of both fighters. If Hatton comes at Pacquiao in a straight plane all night, i can see Pacquiao picking him off and maybe stop the fights on cuts.
I can see it going either way, but gunna go with Hatton by late stoppage.

Hatton was terrible against Mayweather and Lazcano and Malignaggi made Hatton look good because Hatton could go forward with no fear as Malignaggi has no power at all,

Pacman is a different kettle of fish altogether he'll pick Hatton off when he tries to fight on the inside as usual, Hattons poor movement will then allow Pacman to land combinations all over the place so I expect the towel to be thrown in, cuts, or a KO to finish the fight at around the 8 or 9 round mark.

I reckon people are thinking pacmans destruction of de la hoya is how he always fights, i remember the fights where hes looked lightweight and troubled and if anyone can cause that much bother for him again its Hatton. Ill stand by my earlier prediction of a ref stoppage in the 8th in favour of Ricky but it really wouldnt surprise me if Hatton got the job done early ala Castillo.
Hell ive just read the sky sports write up on that fight and it could so easily be pacman they are writing about instead of castillo.

The biggest name on his slate at the time, Castillo was considered among the best in the business largely on the back of his sensational 2005 showdown with the Diego Corrales. Those 10 rounds of sheer torture had to take their toll but while the Mexican's failure to make lightweight twice thereafter ruined the trilogy theory, it told us that Castillo was more than ready to move up to 140lbs. When he got there though, he found a Hatton on top form, out to make the most of the big stage provided by the Thomas and Mack Center. Marco Antonio Barrera carried his IBO belt in for him, Hatton wore a poncho daubed with 'Manchester Mexican' and as soon as the size difference became apparent, this was only going one way.

But as much as Castillo looked tired, he was still brave enough to stand and trade - much to Hatton's delight. A knockdown could have been ruled in the first and it was not until the third that the real Mexican got any sort of foothold in the fight. It lasted less than three minutes because in the final minute of the fourth, just after taking a low blow, Hatton produced a fabulous finish, setting his man up perfectly before landing a sickening left hook to the ribs. A few seconds later and Castillo duly crumpled in a breathless heap and if you think he might have been taking the easy way out, watch Bernard Hopkins' face in the front row when the body shot lands. Perfect execution.

I wonder if Ricky will be able to avoid the old 'check hook' tomorrow.
