The plan is to replace Test matches with Twenty20 world cups that last five days.

I think it's mainly to annoy Chris Gayle.

Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.

Chris Gayle hates Test cricket and would rather play the shorter format of the game, so why will this annoy him??

Too much of a good thing can become a bad thing I suppose.

Because it means he would have to play for five days in a row.

Actually they aren't really planning on having world cups lasting five days so there's no need to take what I said seriously but thanks anyway.

I didn't take you seriously, but your logic bypassed me...however, now that you have explained it, it makes sense as to why Mr Gayle would be annoyed

It was good of you even to bother working it out but, as you can see, the quality of the joke was sadly undeserving of your efforts.

Just thought i'd mention the women's cricket....first up, well done England, winning the T20 World Cup, and currently beating the aussies in the one day series...secondly, there's some damn nice female cricketers on display...a couple of young Aussies and some of the English team...no names i'm afraid.

Oh, and thirdly, a couple of the English spinners were getting some amazing amount of turn, putting the men to shame...almost Warne-esque some of them!! Why can't our spinners do that??

Yes, there were some nice female cricketers.

I would have thought that because they bowl much slower than the men, they get the ball to spin alot more.

Not really, they were pitching them up at around 45-50mph, which is a good enough pace for spin, especially seeing as the ball had a lot of dip and movement in the air too, as well as turn off the pitch.

Maybe Monty could learn something...he seems scared to float the ball up, and prefers to deliver it flatter and faster, making it easier to play in my opinon...not seen enough of Swann of Rashid to judge them yet.

Was checking a few out yesterday, as a fair few graduated/are graduating from my Uni (Loughborough) .

On the men's team, Monty Panesar actually did my course (and plays for my county)!
