Interesting that Cavendish went for (and, inevitably, won) the sprint for third. Proof, were it still needed, that he is definitely going for the green jersey and not just stage wins. I don't expect him to compete for intermediate sprints for a fortnight or so though.
Columbia definitely were making a statement. Cavendish himself made a comment the other day to the effect that other teams were riding like amateurs when it came to chasing down the leading pack.
"If Gerrard continues to play up front, leaving this lack of creativity and intelligence in Midfield, the season WILL be over by Xmas."
I still don't think we'll finish in the top 4 this season."

What a silly idea. You might as well say Usain Bolt is just running for the bus.Originally posted by Pablo1981 View PostThis is more of a hobby than a sport in my opinion anyway, like going for a bike ride with your picnic basket in the countryside during the summer..
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.
May the Lord bless this post.

David Millar oh so close. Caught with about two kilometres to go.
Hushovd wins.On the Ning Nang Nong
Where the Cows go Bong!
And the Monkeys all say Boo!
There's a Nong Nang Ning
Where the trees go Ping!
And the tea pots Jibber Jabber Joo.
On the Nong Ning Nang
All the mice go Clang!
And you just can't catch 'em when they do!
So it's Ning Nang Nong!
Cows go Bong!
Nong Nang Ning!
Trees go Ping!
Nong Ning Nang!
The mice go clang!
What a noisy place to belong,
Is the Ning Nang Ning Nang Nong!!

Great effort by Millar. Does Hushovd take green?.

He's so impressive.Originally posted by ningnangnong View PostCracking ride from young Brice Feillu today.
Also, Contador is just a machine.
I'm watching French coverage so not bothering to pick up all the commentary. When it emerged Contador had gained 21 secs I immediately thought, "That's that. He's got yellow and now it will be a procession because Armstrong won't attack even if he can."
Then the caption came up saying Nocentini had got yellow. I hadn't realised he was virtual leader.

Very smart riding from Sanchez at the death to win.
Massive effort from Sandy Casar to take out second place as well. He got dropped from the breakaway two or three times but always came back.
Oscar Pereiro is has abandoned which is quite surprising considering he won it in 2006.On the Ning Nang Nong
