Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.

      WOW!

I didnt think i'd see anyone run that fast in my lifetime. The guy is a phenomenon. Awesome.

Cant wait for the 200m and when he starts running the 400m.

You reckon he could go sub 19 secs eventually?

        For the 100m, definitely.

How come there wasn't a white bloke in the final? Are we really that rubbish at running?

As posted earlier on this thread, and I know Shaggy agrees with me on this:

According to Darren Campbell on the radio this morning he thinks Bolt might go below 19 seconds in the 200m...

Bolt is just superhuman!! That was just insane and he has not even peaked yet! I think sub 9.5 will be achieved before he is finished.

I know the injury is kinda genuine (although he did run 9.71 FFS), but is he running scared?

Defending champion Tyson Gay has pulled out of the men's 200m at the World Championships because of a nagging groin injury.

The American had been expected to provide stiff opposition to Jamaica's Usain Bolt, who he finished second behind in Sunday's final of the 100m.

"Rather than risk further injury, I will not compete in the 200m. I want to help our 4x100m relay team," said Gay.

Bolt, who set a new 100m world record, runs in Tuesday morning's 200m heats.

Later in the day, Britain's world and Olympic champion Christine Ohuruogu faces America's Sanya Richards in the women's 400m final.

Fellow Brits Phillips Idowu and Nathan Douglas go in the final of the triple jump while David Greene will be looking to upset American duo Kerron Clement and Bershawn Jackson in the 400m hurdles final.

Medals are also up for grabs in the men's 3,000m steeplechase, with Kenya's Ezekiel Kemboi the only man in the field to have cracked eight minutes this season, and the women's javelin.
