Yep Hendo deserves that title shot or Munez but Silva V Sonnen in Brazil will be the biggest fight in MMA history . they will fill a 100,000 stadium for that fight

Im 24, been training MMA for a year, and did a year kickboxing before that. My kicking is good, I have long arms so have good range and my ground game is decent. My defence is weak though and my boxing is poor

This might be a good time for me to chip in with something I was gonna ask you lot.

I've been after starting MMA for quite a while, and I've found a place near me that looks like its a good place to start, quite beginner friendly and also look after you when you progress.

I wanted to lose a bit of weight and get my fitness back a little bit before I started, which I have done a bit, I still have a bit to go but the idea was that the MMA would help me with that.

                Was just gonna if any of you have experience with training MMA and if its a good idea me for me to start whilst I'm still a little bit overweight for my size, I boxed for a couple of years when I was younger and was going to start with the course they offer which is boxing in MMA, but they also do;

                Kickboxing
                Thai Boxing
                Submission Wrestling
                and full MMA.

Was going to start off with boxing and then gradually make my way up once I got a little bit more confident with the people there and that.

                What you think lads?

Stick to the boxing mate. Proper man's sport. None of this dry humping on the mat involved

I joined my local boxing club last January and I've lost best part of 2 stone since. I'm fitter than I've been in years.

                  Do whatever suits.

I'll tell you this though no matter how fit you think you are just now you'll be gasping for air after your first 3 minute round in sparring.

Regarless of what you choose, do it now, you wont regret it. Training makes you fit, not training so you can do some training. I train with a guy who must be 6.7 and has rather large gut, the other night we did 25 punches on the mits, then on the knees 25 punched, then the guy on top of you punching from the ground 25, then on top of him and finally on your feat 25 times again, quick 1 minute water break, then its press ups Krav Maga style .. two of you face off and the whole class goes down on the count and attack the other on the upward move which the other person blokes, 1, then again 2 .. 25 times .. its ****ing exhausting but you get there or there abouts quicker than you think. I have been working out for years, personal training, swimming and over the past 3 years weigths, nothing comes mildly close to an MMA gym. Its either for you or its not, if you like it you'll love it.

Mate I would go for it, Forest Griffin was a few years older than you when he started 24 is a perfect age. I would want to make sure my first fight was the right one, ie do you know who your opponent is and how well do you match up stylistically, perhaps look for a slightly shorter striker so you can used your reach advantage and keep him on the outside.

I seemes wrestling or grappling is perhaps the most powerful knowledge to know in the sport, would keep and eye out for any wrestling coaches or training in the surrounding area.

I've got my test in this tomorrow morning I am ****ting myself

Judging by some of your outbursts under your previous guise i'd also say you've been on the roids
