That's true but it was too much of an ask at that weight, he lost to a guy who'd had no training camp at all. Stick to the lighter divisions and he'll be ok.

Don't think that's strictly true. He is the real deal at featherweight. But moving up 2 weight classes and fighting a new opponent at 11 days notice has got to factor into it. I think he probably should have had a few fights at Lightweight first.
Side note, but GSP was there last night.*Except Michael, who died.

GSP was a completely different fighter after that fight.
What's the comparison? GSP and Serra were both Welterweights neither were moving up for fight.
Unfortunately I don't think McGregor has the all round game that enabled GSP to become a safety first fighter.

In the fact that GSP got sparked when everyone expected him to win. It was more to state that it is more than possible to come back from a "unexpected" loss like that. I don't think McGregor has GSP's tools either, that's not what I meant, but don't be surprised to see s change in the way that Conor operates if he chooses to continue at 155. He's never gonna wrestle**** dudes but he may become more defensive, even go back to his counter punching roots instead of being the aggressor. The times they are a changin'.

Definitely gassed - tried to force his predicted finish in round 2 - got caught, got tired, got submitted.
He needs to stop wriggling around with ido portal and do more BJJ
I think he could have won the fight if he'd been more economical with his movement and less obsessed with stopping Diaz in round 2 with an uppercutGlass Half Full

Somewhat ironic that he was caught hanging his chin out when looking for to land an uppercut...Originally posted by fidget View PostDefinitely gassed - tried to force his predicted finish in round 2 - got caught, got tired, got submitted.

I said after the Dos Anjos right was cancelled and this fight was made that i'd be very surprised to see McGregor fight at 196.
UFC's biggest PPV draw was comprehensively beaten in a nothing fight.

Good lesson for him really and in the perfect fight to be taught it, quite lucky in a way career wise.
Think he took Diaz far too lightly, and as you say with him calling his fights like he had a crystal ball probably got caught up in all that bull****.
Now hopefully he'll realise it's not how you win, just that you do.

If its pissing blood, or a really nasty gash (see Diego Sanchez when he fought BJ Penn) then the ref may step in, but it doesn't happen often in MMA even with the amount of bllod there tends to beOriginally posted by fah-qDidn't someone once see Philip Schofield ****ting into a crisp packet?

McGregor made the same mistake many many fighters make .. trying to knock out a guy with a concrete head, gassing and getting taken out with a easy tap
He also in my opinion blurred the lines between his out of octagon persona and in his fight night game plan, usually he is as cold as ice in there, that fight he was showboating too much and took Nate too lightly and paid the price.
Fair play to Nate top top fighterAnybody who criticizes Klopp ever is a James Blunt. Nov 2015
