More phony than pony`, the hugs at the end was just desperate and well thought out showing a bit more compassion.

I'd suggest he try to memorise the parts where he made heartfelt references to how much he cared about his wife. That was so insincere it's unreal.

Tiger Woods is to make his return to competitive golf at the Masters, which starts on 8 April.
The world number one's last tournament appearance was on 15 November - when he won the Australian Masters.
Less than a fortnight later he crashed his car outside his Florida home, an incident that led to the revelations about his personal life.

So he's back playing at the next Masters, cant see him winning, too long out and too much emotionally to deal with.

Be amazed if he wins but then with Tiger you're never really surprised. He surely needs a few tune-ups beforehand. Be interesting.

Tiger Woods needs to shut the **** up.

Saw today he was quoted as being "nervous" about his reception.

For ****s sake, you've said enough, you didn't kill anyone. You cheated on your wife. Yeah, that makes you a cunt, but all this ****ing groveling and apologising to the entire world is getting on my tits.

Remember what Beckham did after he shagged Rebecca Loos ? Nothing. Absolutely ****ing nothing. Just kept his mouth shut. Best bet by far.

If he can get through what is bound to be a nervy first round, say level par or thereabouts, I think he has a great chance. He's been practicing loads and his playing partners said he was in superb form, hitting the ball longer and straighter than ever. If any of you watched his last few tournaments before the news of the affairs broke you would have noticed he was playing with the weight of the world on his shoulders, a right grumpy mother ****er, and now we know why, his missus was obviously onto him. He took no joy in his golf then. Bizarrely he will be a better frame of mind now than when he played his last tournament in Oz, and won incidentally.

Also Augusta is perfect for him, its nigh on impossible to get a spectators ticket there, so no one is going to want to rock the boat and risk getting banned. He won't get nearly as much stick as he will once he starts playing in New York or those types of places more infamous for a roudy crowd.

He's got a chance in my book, but regardless it's great to have him back, and its going to be absolutely fascinating watching how he gets on

And still world number one...proves how dominant he had been before hand, after not defending his previous points, he's still out in front???

And quite right too. Too many other sports have bizarre ranking systems whereby someone can dominate for years, have a bad spell for a couple of months and see some upstart who's had a good little run usurp him at number one. Ridiculous.

Although I have no idea the points system works in golf (or indeed any other sport, tennis etc) Woods had enough credits in the bank to have kept him at number one for a good while longer yet.

Woods could have stayed away from the Tour until July before anyone could realistically have caught him. And given the way Mickelson is playing it probably would have taken longer.

The points are calculated on a two year rolling system, with points incrementally decreasing in value after three months over the remaining 90 weeks. Given Woods's record winning big tournaments, his points tend to keep a high value, and he seldom goes over the minimum tournament divisor even when playing his usual schedule.
