Thanks, that's what I found too - I wasn't sure which story was more up-to-date.

Some sources say he's broken his wrist, others his ribs. It's very difficult to believe he can ride the cobbles with the latter, let alone the former.
    .
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.

I`ve read he has broken wrist and a damaged elbow. Can`t really see him sprint well with those injuries either.

So he's going to start but whether he finishes the stage is less certain.

Vande Velde is out, unfortunate for him. He's a pretty good rider.

            Cancellara back into yellow!

What a brilliant ride from him, Schleck and Evans also benefit massively after the madness of the cobblestones.

Hushovd also did fantastically well to stay with Cancellara and co, to take out the stage.

Vinokourov might have pissed off Contador a bit during the final run to the line.

Armstrong also loses a fair whack of time.

What a crazy start to Le Tour!!! Never ceases to amaze.

Brilliant race. Although the randomness of punctures is a bit unfortunate.

Good day for Contador, Menchov and Wiggins. Great day for Evans and Andy Schleck. Pity about Frank. Bad day for Armstrong.

This stage was made for Hushovd, and singled out by Cervelo as big chance for a stage win.
So Hushovd now have a head start when it comes to the green jersey. Cavendish will have to go for intermediate sprint points from now on. He`ll win stages, but Hushovd will most likely also get points sprint stages.

No surprise that Hushovd did well though. He finished second in the PAris-Roubaix earlier this season.

Yes, Hushovd is now clearly the favourite for green, which I always thought he was. Today should be a day where we find out the pecking order in the sprints.

Petacchi takes out stage four with ease.

Cavendish and Hushovd offer no real challenge.

Cavendish hasn't got it. Maybe he'll improve as the Tour progresses but he won't win green and I can see him not getting to Paris.

                              Good sprint from Petacchi though.

Hushovd was probably paying for yesterday. I can't see Cavendish can really use that excuse.
