              Can't believe this thread barely has a mention for McIlroy! The kid is a phenomenon, he just keeps re-writing the record books. That 63 was amazing.

              Prior to The Open he'd played St Andrews 15 times competitively and his worst round was 69. Obviously his 80 ended that but that aside - when he was so unlucky with the wind - it's still intact.

                  Indeed...surely 17 shots between your first and second round is some sort of record in itself?
