The cricket ban is for cheating at cricket. The legal sanctions are for breaking the law. You seriously expect a judge to sentence them to a cricket ban? Although I know Ian Huntley is still banned from playing frisbee and is quite bitter about it.

I expect the judge to fine them.

And those sentences were deemed inappropriate because the judge didn't properly consider their age (only 17). What does that have to do with their ethnic origin?
