There's no referral system for this series, I don't get it.

Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.

The second string bowlers looking pretty decent against Australia A. Monty seems to have learnt to field too.

He seems pretty pleased about it too.

ITV has announced a deal with Cricket Australia to broadcast highlights of England's 2010/11 Ashes series in Australia, safeguarding the coverage for free-to-air TV.

Under the agreement, ITV4 will broadcast a comprehensive one-hour highlights programme every evening at 10pm during the series, which begins on November 25 at The Gabba in Brisbane.

"A comprehensive one hour highlights programme"

Not only are they only showing an hour, it'll be on almost 24 hours after the day's play started

Yes but only because that's what those *******s from Sky insisted on.

You may scoff but for those of us who choose to longer pay those c*nts for stuff that used to be free I say well done ITV4.

                  Rant over.

                    Better than nothing, for sure.

                    Watch a stream online, surely?

Well apart from the timing issues t'internet out here in the sticks works about as fast as Carra runs, so streams are a bit of a waste of time. Well a big waste of time for that matter.

If things really hot I might have to swallow my pride and catch a bit of Sky on my neighbours settee.

Getting back into the swing of things now, caught a bit of the Australia A game today. The bloody massive talk of the town NSW kid failed in both innings including a golden in the second gotta feel for the poor kid, it will take him time to shake it off because it was a huge opportunity for him with Hussey playing for his test spot.

Thats his name. I didn't feel like looking him up and I wasn't going to bother having a go at hime. Haven't watched any of the state comp so far this year but everybody is raving about him. Looks like we will be waiting a little longer

On a side note, I noticed Callum Ferguson's First Class average 36.34 and he is supposed to be the next Aussie batsman

Has a good ODI average of 46 from 26 games but that probably includes a heap of not outs at the end of innings.

We really are getting bad now. For the love of god I hope you guys don't beat us here.

To be fair Trescothick and Vaughn didn't have great first class averages for their counties but turned out to be top test players.

Didn't know that. Although, I really didn't know much about Vaughan because he missed a few Ashes series that I watched closer. He absolutely destroyed us in 2002, as I was just looking. 2 big centuries in one series. Then again that is 2 centuries in 10 innings. Which isn't anything incredible but still very good.

Also, his test average was only 42 which isn't all that high.
