Are you thinking of Darren Pattinson?

He's an Aussie who we pinched because we thought he could swing the ball.

          He couldn't.

Aye I remember him being an Aussie

He'll be a pub quiz question alongside Xavier Doherty in a few years

Yeah don't think he'll be playing too much more test cricket

Actually I'm amazed that they have such a paucity of spinners.

I would have thought that Warne's exploits would have inspired every kid in Oz to become a spin bowler during the last 15 years.

When Chappell made another incendiary remark, both of them dropped their bags and were at each others' throats before being quickly separated.

                    Sure, sure.
                    .
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.

The point of playing the dead rubber used to be that it allowed England to win a match because the Australians had already won the series and didn't try as hard.

It's not really pointless though. Test cricket isn't just about the series, it's also about the individual matches.

I could make a cycling analogy here but I fear that will only sidetrack matters, as usual.

Sorry dude but I actually support the Poms at cricket I've never been a fan of sledging and the aussies are the masters of it unfortunately.

It's good for the game that the aussies are struggling at present IMO. I'd love to see the West Indies find some form like the 70's & 80's sides. That was cricket
Me, I’m either planning a holiday or I’m on one.

I've an uncle who'se the same, support the Windies coz he can't stand the Aussie team's behaviour. Unfortunately I can't see WI reaching those heights again.

He's a good man your uncle But I totally agree with you. The windies were magnificent to watch and gentlemen off the pitch also. There was something magical about them and they had an aura of being unbeatable at times. But they were humble at the same time. That changed and they became conceited and didn't put in the work needed.
