400 is an absolute bare minimum for us IMO. What a nightmare.

The only reason the Aussies got to 400 was due to Strauss wasting the referrals on the second day. Hussey should have been out for LBW early but the umpire didn't agree but the replays showed he was out but due to us not having any referrals left he managed to stay in and get 195 runs. He was the one who did the damage.Originally posted by Craig_H View PostSo, was i right about england being a bit **** and Australia having this first test in the bag?

That is trueOriginally posted by Craig_H View PostI dont really understand any of that mate. I'm a cricket novice.
I know england are getting battered though.
Each team has two referrals per inning. A referral is when either team has a chance to have another look at decision through a replay. The replay will prove if the decision was correct or not. If the team asks for a referral and it goes against them they lose one.
Strauss took two decisions to referral (which looked pretty clear to me) on day two and they both went against him so we lost our referrals. So when Hussey should have been out we didn't have a referral to challenge the umpires decision so as a result he stayed in the game and clocked up 195 runs.
Im a cricket novice myself mate but think thats about right.Last edited by Leyton388; 27-11-10, 10:52 PM.

You should definatly try and understand the game more. Watch sky sports and you will find it really enjoyable. Id honestly much rather watch england fail to make a breakthrough for 90mins than us at the moment.Originally posted by Craig_H View PostI dont really understand any of that mate. Tell you what for as piss poor Sky are at football pundits and coverage they have it spot on with the cricket. All the commentators are fantastic. I'm not a massive cricket fan but am getting into it thanks to SKY. I love listening to Michael Holding.Originally posted by Alex View PostYou should definatly try and understand the game more. Major cockup then, if Hussey went on to score 195 off the back of being allowed to stay in due to no more referrals left.

I'm feeling a bit rough at the moment, so i've been trying to rest, and not to stay up really late.

yep thats about right. The team that is batting can "declare" when they think they have a big enough lead so they put the other team into bat and try to bowl them out and end the test early.Originally posted by Daniel Torres View PostWhat does "declared" mean?
Is it that they think they've had such a boss score they can't be ****ed anymore?
"No way they'll get that lads, let's have our tea, there's bad light on the way"
No?
