I can't ever recall seeing better players than the top 4 now. The 2007 and 2008 Wimbledon finals of Federer v Nadal were just about the best sporting encounters I have ever seen. I've never been able to play tennis, so maybe I'm easily impressed, but I remember sitting on the edge of my seat going "Wow!" every few minutes. They were both amazing.
I wonder if Nadal might burn out, can't see him having the longevity of Federer.

The men's game is pretty much amazing right now. You've got two legendary players, three more fantastic ones (don't forget Del Potro). The top 20 is filled with talent. You can't say that about the women.
That's all true. But I'm not really watching it, it's more for background interest.
The last tennis match I remember watching with real enthusiasm was a French Open final between Nadal and someone else, a few years ago. I flicked on to it by accident, watched about two minutes and was hooked. Since then though, nothing has really grabbed me.
I can't watch Wimbledon because of all the gormless braying from all the inbred throwbacks in the crowd..
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.
May the Lord bless this post.

You should watch Nadal vs. Federer at Wimbledon 2008. There isn't a better advertisement for the game than that one.Originally posted by Neil Young View Post

unbelievable match.
As for Murray getting interviewed, at times yeah he does seem like a laugh and a decent lad, but christ he is dull in post match interviews - dont get me wrong i cheer him on more than any other player on the tour, but he really could do with lightening up.
Ferrer, i think Murray will edge past him. Thing is though, Murray is well known for playing brilliantly, and then out of no where getting beat; Tsonga for example two years ago at the Aussie open, roddick at wimbledon etc - hope he wins though, a repeat of last years final maybe

Yes, now you mention it, I remember hearing it was good. If it's on somewhere and I've got nothing better to do then I will, cheers.Originally posted by JohnDoe View PostYou should watch Nadal vs. Federer at Wimbledon 2008. There isn't a better advertisement for the game than that one..
