Well turns out they didnt run KERS on the Red Bull at all since Friday.

Not sure if they still have to carry the weight or not but either way, amazing speed from the boy.

Seems the moveable wing and tyres weren't as pivotal as people thought they may be in the race.

I think that if they dont run it they dont have to replace the weight. Its an optional thing.
        *Except Michael, who died.

Sauber drivers Sergio Perez and Kamui Kobayashi have been disqualified from the Australian Grand Prix over a technical infringement. Ferrari's Felipe Massa is now elevated to seventh, ahead of Toro Rosso's Sebastien Buemi, and Force India duo Adrian Sutil and Paul di Resta.

Wasnt sure myself but DC on the F1 Forum on BBC said if they dont run it they still have to have the ballast on board.

Makes Vettel's pace all the more impressive

Really enjoyed the race, Martin Brundle was great as the main broadcaster, no pointless babbling and two insightful pundits making the right calls and providing great info on what's going on. Top marks.

Vettel is going to be the man to beat this season. The car looks superb, a cynical man would comment on the difference between him and Webber and question whether they're truly getting equal billing. Its clear they're not. McLaren a long way clear in 2nd, Ferrari have some serious catch up work to do. Button was all over Massa twice over.

Nice to see a Scot back on the grid, and Di Resta was quietly impressive. Good luck to him.

                How is it clear?

Mark Webber is not a passive man, many times in the past when he felt aggrieved within the team, the world knew about it.

He hasnt suggested anything of the sort this time.He was out paced and out classed and judging by his demeanour post quali and race he knew it.To suggest otherwise is unfair on Vettel IMO,but he dosent appear to be well liked for some reason, much like Alonso, and this tempers opinions on him

Its clear he's Red bulls golden boy and that didnt sit well for parts of last season but to be fair to him and Webber,Performances wise,he fully deserves it at the moment, much Like Alonso deserves to be main man ahead of Massa

I'm not disparaging Vettel. The difference between the two cars would suggest he's getting favourable equipment - he's definitely the better driver of the two, but i think they're closer than they are in real terms. Just my opinion, which is no more valid than anyone else's

Vettel is 100% the man to beat this season. He'll not be feeling the pressure so much with the first title behind him. He's odds on for the title for me.

Not disparaging your opinionwe all have our favs and our pet hates, just dont think he gets the kudos he should do,prob because of previous favourable treatment from his team. Can't see it myself this time though,no way Webber would take that lying down and not say anything.

Class of his own at the moment though, mind you in fantasy land I'd love to see Alonso,Hamilton and Vettel in the same car for a no holds barred battle royale

New thread for this season probably makes sense - I've just moved the few newish posts from the other thread into here.

Gonna be an interesting race today. I think it could well be a MM 1-2. With RedBull imploding (with regards to tryes)

Really enjoyed that - how pissed off was Hamilton at the end? He's off at the end of the season unless McLaren stop ****ing it up for him. Bad tactical stops and a bad stop - he did as much as he could with the drive.

Vettel was brilliant again, he's approaching the top in talent, but I still have my doubts as to how he reacts when he has to dig in and battle through the field. He's great when he's out front, he's amazing at qualifying, but I've never seen him have to pull it out the bag in adversity. He seems to get petulant when the pressure is on.

Button did well, hats off to him. The season would be completely different if Kubica was in it unfortunately. That Renault looks great, it was built for Kubica and he would have been a challenger, no doubt.

Yeah, I enjoyed the race today. Great drive in adversity from Mark Webber also.

Thats the kind of thing I'm not sure Vettel can do...

He's great when its all going his way. Not sure about his head under pressure.
