What's worse is that they can definitely avoid doing it. In practice, both of them never grunt. It's cheating.

They do it to hide the sound of the ball hitting the racquet and throw off the opponent. Certain hits have distinct sounds to them and the other player can anticipate the pace and spin of the ball by hearing the impact.

I dont mind them grunting a bit, Seles was the first I recall grunting like a loon, the match earlier though was embarrassing, even I had to switch it down ffs.

Hopefully the forecasted storm will delay the Murray match by 4-5 hours to enable me to watch it in peace too. 4pm, ****ing stupid time.
