That's the best one I've read this morning.Originally posted by Shaggy View Post
Bloody hell - what a roller-coaster. I'm chuffed to bits he's finally got one and I just hope it shuts all the miserable ******* nay-sayers up.
I'm also chuffed that I had no wine in the house yesterday - that was a two bottle (at least) match and I would have been royally fekked today!
Bloody brilliant

Ivan Lendl is optimistic that Andy Murray's US Open win will be followed by more major titles.
Murray, 25, beat Novak Djokovic 7-6 (12-10) 7-5 2-6 3-6 6-2 to become the first British male winner of a Grand Slam event since Fred Perry in 1936.
Lendl, who became Murray's coach at the start of 2012, said: "Hopefully, we're not anywhere near where Andy can get.
"I didn't come here to have a good time - I came here to help Andy win. He did, so it's job done."
The victory caps a fine year for Murray who reached the semi-finals of the Australian Open at the start of the year, where he was beaten by Djokovic, and then bowed out of the French Open in the quarter-finals.
At Wimbledon, Murray advanced to the final but lost in four sets to Roger Federer before exacting his revenge with victory in the London 2012 Olympic final over the Swiss world number one.
"One of his most important matches of the year, maybe the most important, was his loss to Novak at the Australian Open, because that was war just like tonight," said Lendl, who, like Murray, lost his first four Grand Slam finals before going on to win eight majors.
"That gave him the belief that he can hang with these guys and it showed him what it would take to win. It didn't catch him by surprise.
"Go back to the Olympics - he has already won a big one. He won two big ones in this fantastic year. I'm very happy for Andy. It's a great achievement and let's hope he can continue and rake up more.
"Andy has been maturing very nicely as a player, as a competitor, as a person. As you mature you become more comfortable in these situations.
"Of course, it's very important to be in more of these situations and the more of them you are in the more comfortable you feel."Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

Nadal and Murray will dominate Men's tennis over the next four to five years. I can't see anyone coming close other than the odd win for Federer and Djokovic.
Delighted for Murray. He deserves it and has fully utlilised his momentum gathered from Wimbledon and the Olympics. Haven't seen his mum yet and avoided the news channels, so I'm still over the moon for him.
Djokovic looked sharp for large periods last night, but I still think there's something missing in him which he had last year.

I think that's being a bit dismissive to Djokovic and a bit optimistic on Nadal.Originally posted by Phoenix07 View PostNadal and Murray will dominate Men's tennis over the next four to five years. I can't see anyone coming close other than the odd win for Federer and Djokovic.
I don't think Nadal has more than 3 years in him, he's plagued with injuries and even though he's shed some weight to elongate his career, his style of play is very physically demanding. Those knee injuries are a pain.
Novak had an amazing year last season and it was always going to be hard to match that, but I expect him and Murray to share most of the slams over the next few years.
