Golfer's face! They're terrible, Mickelson's is nearly always the worst. I dunno how they go out and face people looking like that. Two tone faces

That was an amazing tournament with a slightly anti-climactic ending. Got an awesome run for my money out of Luuuuuuuuuuuke. That double bogey on 12 was the killer for him.

Aye, Darkness Mickelson's terrible for it. His hands even worse. There was a shot if him raking his glove off the other day and I swear that had I not seen him remove it I wouldn't have been able to tell the difference.
A lot of people run a race to see who is fastest. I run to see who has the most guts, who can punish himself into exhausting pace, and then at the end, punish himself even more.

well what a tournement - it had everything and probably the most open major i have ever seen - even with 9 holes still to play there was about 8 or 9 guys who could win it!! - nobody would have picked that shwartzel tho

gutted for McIlroy - complete blow up but i think he'll be back and back stronger and will a few majors - young lad, but fiery and talented and sometimes you need to have been in that position once, before you can go and win one the 2nd time round - guarentee next time he is that position he won't bottle it.

            Nice pic.

Haven't read the thread but just have to say how gutted I am for McIlroy.

Before I headed out last night I saw his shaky start. Nothing could prepare me thought for arriving home at half eleven to find he'd dropped off the first page of the leaderboard.

Shocking stuff. Hope it helps hom bounce back better.

McIlroy. It was like having a bad golf day, when you know your playing bad, that you just don't give two hoots, you just hit the ball out of frustration and quickly take the putts. We've all been there.

^^ exactly what i was thinking whilst watching it - we've been there...obviously not in the masters like - but i can remember a few rounds were it's just collapsed, you've tried to get out of the **** thinking if i can just get to there, then chip and putt, save bogey, i can live with that...and it just goes tits up - you just go u lose interest - it gets to the point were it doesn't matter, you don't care anymore if you lose by 1 shot or 10 shots, u just want to get outta there....

thats why i don't think the collapse would hurt him as much you'd expect - when you look at the scores you think wow!! he went from leading to dropping like 10 shots or whatever - it looks bad....

but i reckon what would have been worse would be say – clinging on, playing poorly, it’s slipping, but your one ahead, standing on the 18th – and then it goes! That would harder to live with....all you need is par....and you completely

I saw a little of the winner's interview on Sky Sports News. Even by golfing standards he's a very boring man.
                  .
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

Bad to worse for Rory McIlroy as clubs go missing on flight to Malaysia

                      • McIlroy arrives for Malaysia Open without his bags
                      • Tournament is chance to recover from Masters meltdown

After his meltdown at the Masters Rory McIlroy must have thought things could not get any worse. However, after a 25-hour journey from Georgia to Malaysia on a plane with the Masters champion Charl Schwartzel, the Northern Irishman arrived to find his clubs had not made the journey.

"It's one of these things – you can't help it, going through so many timezones and so many connecting flights your bags are going to get lost sometimes," McIlroy said. "Hopefully they turn up tonight and I'll be ready to go tomorrow."

McIlroy, who blew a four-shot lead in the final round at Augusta, said he was keen to get back in action at the Kuala Lumpur Golf and Country Club for the co-sanctioned European and Asian Tour event, which starts on Thursday.

"I feel like I'm playing really well at the minute," said McIlroy. "It showed for the first three days of Augusta that the game is there. Hopefully, instead of doing it for three days like last week I can do it for four days this week. I don't think I need to change anything, just be a little calmer and a little more patient on Sunday and hopefully that will be enough."

The world No9 had plenty of time on the flight to think about what he might have done differently in his final round of 80 on Sunday. "The only shot that I'd take back is that tee shot on 10. If I could start the round again on the 10th tee in that position I was in ..." McIlroy said of the drive that hit a tree and ended up in front of some houses way left of the fairway.

"That shot was the first bad drive I hit all week ... and then from there, making seven on 10, I just sort of lost my way a little in the middle of the round. These things can happen very easily. I'll know in the future how to deal with it if it ever happens again."

Schwartzel profited most from McIlroy's meltdown, but the pair enjoyed an amicable long-haul flight together. "It was fine," McIlroy said. "I've known Charl a long time and I'm happy for him, genuinely, he played great on Sunday. To go out and shoot 66 on the final day of the Masters to win was a great performance
                      ."
