I hate him cos he used to cost me money all the time. He was somehow ranked 3 in the world while at the same time losing to journeymen week in, week out.

It is ok to hate him for that but he work his socks off for charity, just so you know.

A couple of years ago Murray would have lost the fourth set but now he showed what a fighter he is.

Will be a totally different type of match against the all out attacking Gasquet. If he gets through that match then he got an excellent chance to make it into the final with Nadal struggling with an injury.

Bold statement but I agree it's a golden age for men's tennis. The top 3 would certainly have beaten Sampras IMO and Murray's a close call. 4 phenomenal players though.

Sorry I Disagree Sampras did not have to step it up another level half the time. In His prime he had another level. He would be a match for any of the Top 4. He would win as many as he would lose.

I don't think thats hyperbole, its comparison. Subjective granted. I genuinely believe that if any of the top 4 had been around in the Sampras era, they would have beaten him quite regularly and probably have been ahead of him.

I'd had a few when I said destroyed. I do think, however, that Murray would have been on a few grand slam wins if he'd been playing around the Sampras / Henman era. The standard is way higher now. Nadal and Federer are the best players ever. Call that post vodka exaggeration. (Not hyperbole Nige, thats different)

not sure its way higher......every generation has 1-2 amazing players. I think the likes of Sampras and Becker would hold there own nowadays.
