Wind resistance..
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.
May the Lord bless this post.

So why not follow the break away pack and let them take the wind resistance? How was it the guy who won was able to win?Originally posted by Neil Young View PostWind resistance.

Mick Dowling may have just landed himself in some hot water with a poorly judged joke on RTE that sparked outrage on Twitter.
Dowling was one of Ireland’s great amateur boxers competing in two Olympic games for Ireland and winning multiple national championships.
Over the past few years he has made a name for himself as one of the most articulate analysts on RTE’s boxing coverage and unfortunately it was on the state broadcaster that Dowling made some ill-judged comments today.
As usual Dowling was analysing the strengths and weaknesses of various fighters including Ireland's John Joe Nevin.
Unfortunately he made a gaffe by attempting to joke that “John Joe is a good thinker, and that’s thinker with a “th!” referring to Nevin’s traveller roots.
Tinker is a derogatory term for members of the travelling community and though Dowling undoubtedly made the comment in jest and not malicious, it was an unfortunate remark. That rug really tied the room together.

Because he (and the British team) would have done the hard work and the other riders would have tagged along and gained the benefit and by the time it came to sprint Cavendish would have been knackered.Originally posted by CJ View PostEven after all this insightful analysis, when it was clear the pesky foreigners were not going to help why did he not just pedal fasterWe come not to play.

Watched the opening ceremony..shocked to see in this thread so many say it was great.. Thought I'd wait.I have a business in retail sector so I asked every customer I saw. I'm glad I am not the only one who thought it was ****e...music does not interest me apart from the forging of the lord or the rings rip off it was dull..I have expect knights to be init and a memorable fire lighting.give me a ring of fire with horses jumping thought it or something or cyclist daredevil...:. I went to commonwealth 2002 opening and closing ceremony just as bad this one. China kicked ass in 2008 even the Euro 96 football tourney ceremony was better.

A major criticism for the BBC's coverage of boxing - why on earth don't they show the scores during the rounds? It has totally ruined my enjoyment of the fights I have seen and I know the scores have always been shown in previous games."Its not about the long ball or the short ball, its about the right ball." I guess they have done it in order to make it more like the professional bout. I agree it does seem a bit odd though
