It's unreal...I like all sports and thought I'd enjoy the olympics..I do whenever its on but this has been something else!,, completely entralled by it and the whole country, everyone I know, has gone Olympic mad! ...first time ever I can say I'm proud to be British and ****ing love every second of it.....these guys put so much in, it's the biggest moment of their lives, in their own country and the focus then emotions and release is just a joy to see

True though. Football is the first love for most of us but at the moment I'm feeling pretty meh about that ****in sport. THIS is pure sport, people who work to be the best they can be - not the richest or ****in blingiest - every single day with zero guarantees at the end of it all. Top footballers will say they train hard every day but they're guaranteed a massive salary every month. I also feel oddly patriotic and quite proud of these people. Bragg's comments are spot on, it's brilliant.

Well said. Said the same thing to the wife. It's a tad annoying when you see Redgrave and Lewis (for example) accepting knighthoods and damehoods though. They should give the finger to this ****.

Why? It's recognition and reward for their achievements, rather they were given out to the likes of Redgrave and Lewis than some that end up with the hours
