just back up from long weekend at olympics and safe to say ive caught the "team GB spirit" bug. bought all kinds of merchandiee from tracksuits (havent worn one of these in 10+ years!), flags, wristbands, sweatbands, keyrings, baseball caps, towels... Such a great atmosphere even at womens marathon on sunday where we stood for a good hour and half before the race and then the first hour and a bit of the race in what i can only describe as a full blown storm (thunder/lightning/torrential rain/strong winds) and not once did anybody moan. people were still joking and laughing and cheering everything from the unpaid volunteers (fair play to them by the way) to the motorbikes carrying the camera crews!
defo heading back down to see the second week of the paralympics which should be amazingPeople who think there's no good way to die have obviously never heard the phrase 'Drug-fuelled-sex-heart-attack'.

Not indentikit, more temporary kit.Originally posted by Alex View PostI like the Stadium with the Triangles. It give it an identity. Its not going to be as iconic as the Birds Nest. But at least its not one of these Identikit stadiums that everyone is having.
It looks like a tent in many ways. Completely temporary, and its design embraces that rather than trying to hide it.
I had reservations, but I think it works.Last edited by dom9; 07-08-12, 10:30 AM.Oh I don't know.

No, not at all. That pitch is just too far away from the stands. Especially behind the goals.Originally posted by CJ View Postit doesnt look like football will sit easily within it though does it
I thought it was going to look terrible. Its a proper bowl stadium though which is cool.Originally posted by dom9 View PostNot indentikit, more temporary kit.

Seems such a shame that it'll end up as another football stadium really doesn't it?Originally posted by Tee View PostIn the Olympic Stadium right now.....wow, what an incredible feeling. It is an amazing arena, and after a sensational night of boxing last night I feel so blessed to be here today.
It is going to be so sad when these games are over....
