If anyone else like me was wondering what you'd be able to see at the Velodrome/Pringle post games, then here is the answer:

They aren't.

They are triangles.

I like the Stadium with the Triangles. It give it an identity. Its not going to be as iconic as the Birds Nest. But at least its not one of these Identikit stadiums that everyone is having.

The Illuminati reason is why I asked. I'm trying to find a rational explanation since I've been inundated with Christian groups pointing this out (along with 2012=ZION and the mascots as CJ pointed out).

There doesn't have to be a reason in design. Unless its structural. Look at the stadium, there are Triangles everywhere.

I'll definitely be taking my lad to the Manchester velodrome

Re the stadium. It must be retained as an Athletics stadium....it would be an absolute travesty if Spurs or West Ham got their grubby mitts on this amazing arena. Watching football from the stands is absolutely fine btw.

football will pay the bills though. but the stands are so far away arent they

Of course it will continue to be used for Athletics. The World Championships will take place there, as will all the stuff that currently takes place at Crystal Palace.

Any future tennant has to make provision for Athletics to continue as part of the contract. That is why they ripped up the previousl process and started again. And that is why Spurs were never gonna succeed.

Was just thinking about the Paralympics....to be honest I am not in the least bit interested and it kind of bothers me that I'm not. It's discriminatory, isn't it? Is anyone honestly arsed about it? It doesn't sit easily with me, I feel bad for having zero interest.

I am going to try to get tickets for the stadium for the Paralympics. I want to go and see it all. But no, im not really fussed about it. Well apart from seeing Pistorius maybe.
