      Ken?

Certainly the commissaires seemed particularly harsh on the two incidents involving GB, whereas others seemed to get off (e.g. Guo Shang in the sprint QF). But maybe we're just oversensitive, and ready to see a conspiracy where there isn't one. And we'll never know if the same would have happened had Meares and Pendleton's roles been reversed.

Still, the UCI isn't known for its evenhandedness and integrity. Although it's probably not quite as bad as the IOC and FIFA.

Why has your post got lots of stray accents on it? You're not going all çöntîñéntàl on us, are you?

Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

Oh CJ, btw... If you have tickets for the Womens hockey please take a Falkland Islands flag so when we beat the argies you can wave it in their face.

I know it was the mens team that released that video but it would be nice to beat the womens team too

Usain Bolt celebrates 100m gold with Swedish women's handball team

Usain Bolt didn't need to leave the athletes' village to toast his 100 metres gold, preferring to celebrate with three members of the Swedish women's handball team

Bolt beat his training partner Yohan Blake to retain his 100m title and in the process set a new Olympic record of 9.63 sec. The 25 year-old decided to enlist the help of Gabriella Kain, Isabelle Gullden and Jamina Roberts, who lost all five of their matches and finished bottom of their group in the handball tournament, to celebrate his victory.
The photo is slightly surprising considering that Bolt had insisted there would be no celebrations as he still has to try and retain his 200m crown.
“This gold means I am one step closer to being a legend so I'm working toward that,” Bolt said. “That's just one step, I have the 200m to go so I can't celebrate.”
A Swedish newspaper reported that the trio asked Bolt’s coach for accreditation so that they could congratulate the sprinter and spent an hour-and-a half in the sprinting legend's bedroom.

The Swedish ladies were not his only admirers. After confirming his status as the fastest man on earth he even got a kiss from last night’s silver medallist in the 400m Christine Ohuruogu.

Meanwhile, Andy Murray had a more British Olympic celebration after defeating Roger Federer at Wimbledon. A photo of his two dogs wearing the gold and silver medals he managed to secure yesterday was posted on Twitter.

His dogs, Maggie May and Rusty, who are border terriers, looked delighted to join in the celebrations. A message on Maggie May's Twitter page read: "Here we go folks ... Just checking to make sure Rusty definitely has the silver, obviously."

Dog with silver medal must be wondering why he is second best.

GB high jumper last to enter the competition coming in at 2.30 by the looks of it.

Qualified for the final with a single jump at 2.29 and is European champ. Real prospects of a medal here

Edit: Scrap that. He jumped 2.25 and cleared first attempt. Leads by default of being the only one not to jump for 2.20

That seems a mistake. The stadium closes at about midnight.

Actually it's a pity the medals aren't the other way around on the dogs, as the picture would look like the one on the right was looking at the gold medal on his mate and thinking just that.

I was very cynical about the games before they started. I generally hate watching "us" (England), being Northern I feel no association with England teams. I am loving the Olympics and feel proud to be British something I have probably never said before. The dedication and determination shown by the athletes has been staggering. I'll be gutted when it's over.
