I agree. We definitely must invest much more in beach volleyball.
    Oh I don't know.

Ireland's John Joe Nevin through to the final.

I'm not sure cycling has that much infrastructure really but that's another matter.

The idea is you reward sports that are well run. And that is defined by consistently meeting their objectives, which are (or at least were), success at the elite level and participation rates lower down.

That's why I posted that table of funding the other day. The set-up of the GB cycling team is a model for other sports here and elsewhere. I've long said it. It's very, very impressive.

It may be true of other sports too, I don't know.
          .
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.

Ogogo outclassed by a very handy Brazilian in the boxing.

This BMX riding is carnage. I don't think I've seen a race in which all of the riders have finished.

I watched the BMX really enjoyed it, reminded me of when I used to race when I was a kid though the tracks were not as good as the Olympics one.

Did not think it would work as Olympic sport but it is really did

Getting to the dregs of the Olympics now. Today we've had Mens open water swimming, BMXing, Mens vollyball and now synchronised swimming. There's still some gems out there though boxing finals and the relay finals are on over the weekend.
