      Some New Balance crap for £30. They look fairly basic and I'm very unhappy about the red/black/white colour palatte (Manchester United/Nazi Party) but they feel comfortable and sturdy enough.

      In short, they'll do.

      SportsDirect is a hellhole.

      Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

        It is. It's like a big jumble sale. It's now got to the point where I'd rather go and pay a few quid more at Start Fitness, Fenwicks or Northern Runner as the prospect of sifting through the mountains of rubbish for the odd good running top is just unbearable. They always seem packed too. Their range is hugely overstated as well.

        Anyway, a few of the 2011 New Balance range have been really well reviewed and ad ling as they are comfy that's all that matters (well that and being suitable for your foot and level of pronation).
        A lot of people run a race to see who is fastest. I run to see who has the most guts, who can punish himself into exhausting pace, and then at the end, punish himself even more.

          At the minute I'm back up to 40 miles a week and am planning to push it out a bit more. I'm bricking it that my knee will go again (I can already feel it creaking and cracking) so will take any additional help I can get.
